THERE ARE LEAVES THAT FALL, INSIDE MY HEART.

There are leaves that fall
inside my heart,
like a quiet fanfare of trumpets
every time that you walk by
signalling the coming and going
of cherished happiness
that makes my heart flutter
and makes me want to hold you
in the cold
beneath the maple trees.

I didn't like the cherished happiness line and the heart flutter line originally, I originally only wrote them so I could keep going to the lines after them, and figured I could come back to them and fix them as long as I wrote them with the right mood. But I like the flutter line because I think it helps setup the tone for the following lines, so I might just change nothing at all.
