The pirate in you says that you never want to get married that you just want to keep sailing the open seas. But the pirate in me says that all this swashbuckling was for her, to have her lips against mine and to live a life of peace. I was never a pirate for the fun -- though it was fun. It was also dangerous. I was a pirate so that I may come back to her. You see, my friend, there are different kinds of pirates. |

Based on seeing a poem that said "The giraffes in my necks" (https://allpoetry.com/poem/15376801-The-Art-of-Now-by-Stripeskin).
I liked the construction so much that I initially wanted to also write an 'animal-in-me' metaphor, but decided to keep that and use the pirate in me.
