Arches
This one was inspired by some events in Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series...Women in training to be Aes Sedai have to walk through three Arches and face their dreams/nightmares/fears to see if they have the strength to continue, but what effect would it have on them?

Thrice I walked
Through my greatest fears
Saw what I had hoped
Never to
And faced my darkest
Nightmares
I betrayed you, failed you,
Abandoned you,
Killed you of my own accord,
I could never do that…
But I did.
If I saw you today,
Would I smile and greet you?
Would I scream in terror,
Seeing not your familiar face
But a mask of terror?
And would you run from me
Seeing the truth in my eyes?
