Manetheren
Another one inspired by Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time. Manetheren was a city/nation which was destroyed in a war and forgotten by most.
Manetheren
Last night I walked in a fallen city
Storied Manetheren lived once more
And I walked its streets
Watched in wonder the buildings
Unseen by all, but seeing
Even to the queen and king
Legendary Aemon, famous as his land,
And when I woke and saw the truth
I wept
O that such a city could die!
O that such bravery is forgotten!
What has become of us
That we forget our history?
For then we forget ourselves.
