People just don't care. They don't have enough compassion for people to realise that just cuz all this stuff isn't afecting them, doesn't mean it doesn't matter.
When did we become divided? Who decided that the human race should be split into 'races' 'age' and 'country'. What do countries matter when it makes up the same world? What are people fighting over when we're all the same? When did the future of America and the rest of Western Europe become more important than children in Ethiopia with no food...why is so much money being spent on bombing the world's poorest countries?
It all comes down to greed. Power hungry politicians wanting world domination. How many times do we have to say 'Everyone is equal' before people start actually thinking about it. How many times do they have to hear 'Peace and love dude' before they stop hearing it as a hippy statement and start realising that fighting isn't going anywhere. Rich countries view themsleves as stronger, more important than the poorer countries. And yet it is this attitude that's keeping the poor countries in such a state.
Lack of communication between countries. Lack of politicians who have actually ventured outside their own sheltered world. People are dying from lack of drinking water for fuks sake...who cares where Tony Blair went on holiday? Why can't we sort out the starving children before we 'further improve' anything in our own countries. It's all selfish.
I'm not pretending to have the solutions...no one is because the solution will only exsist when people wake up to what the people of their world. WORLD. OUR world. Not country. When they wake up to what these people are suffering and realise that they were born the same as you and me. They didnt decide to be born black, white, disabled, poor,...they just were. It's sheer luck that we happened to be lucky. So start appreciating it. And stop viewing citizens in other countries as aliens. We're all the same. Did you actually listen to it that time?
