    Colorado

The milk of the moon
Cuts open my chest
My soul flowing out like butterflies
Dancing upon this mountaintop.

Finally free of form
Bodiless, holy and pure
The wolf stares calmly
Snow dewdrops on his coat.

He says, "Welcome to Colorado, child"
It is here you can be free and wild.
The groove of truth
Spreads her arms toward the jewelled sky.

For once in my life I don't want to die
I want to live, dance and sing
Surrounded by the quiet serenity of trees
Splashing in puddles, I joyously collapse to my knees.

My face toward Heaven, smiling
As a tear drips slowly erasing sorrow
The sun beats down golden rays
I'm in the icy breeze
Brushing against the mountains face
In one long howling wave.
