“Chances”
by: daniel fesperman
It’s early and I’m not sure if I am awake.
The sun is rising up strong and bold,
Yet, I lay here, a coward afraid to face the day.
The sun is glistening outside my window.
I am awake but not ready for the challenge,
Afraid of what I may see or feel.
The light is fading as the sun lowers it’s glory.
I’m sitting, not standing, wanting to jump,
But scared of the commitment I’d make.
The sun rises and lowers but once in a day,
There is still tomorrow, but today has gone away.
