It was a morning like any other
The same old routine
I got up, took a shower
And then I brushed my teeth
I grabbed my book bag
Headed out the door
Little did I know
What the day had in store
On my way to class
I felt an urge to prayer
But little did I know
Soon my life would be taken away
I shared a funny joke
With a friend of mine
But little did I know
It’d be for the last time
In class kids were talking
About a shooting earlier that day
But little did we know
Soon, the killer would come our way
As I took notes in my class
Someone burst into the door
And, before I knew it
We were all on the floor
Yes the gunshots took me
But an angel was by my side
He said, "It’s all over"
And wiped the tears from my eyes
Now I’m in Heaven
With my fallen friends
So don’t cry for us
Mom, Dad,
We’ll see each other again.
