friendship

often times
links connect
who knows why
heaven sent?
chains of how
back to birth
led us here
searching for
the truth about
how life works
all is lost
if one shirks
the duty to
look within
opens doors
scary thing
to see the stuff
we would hide
from the world
in denial

when we reach
this state of growth
we're the only ones
to make it
can't rely
on someone else
to do the work
we can't forsake it

but we can
rely on friends
to give us strength
by standing by us
sending love
encouragement
gives us hope
that we can do it

friendship is
a blessed thing
never to
take for granted
true friends shine
in our lives
here's the way
it's manifested

transmiting rays
of hope and faith
friendship glows
sending strength
seen our flaws
shared a few
doesn't matter
we're all human
in the middle
of this mess
one thing sure
always ask
free will reigns
we must do
that which only
we can do
no one else
can do for us
inspiration
is the plus

friendship says:
i'll be right here
been through it too
face your fear
won't be easy
that's alright
not alone
sending light
encouragement
change your fate
do your work
it's not too late
take a breath
take your time
every path
has its own climb

whatever choice
you must make
to find yourself
do not berate
the fact that it
may not be mine
diversity
is what we find
that helps me see
from your side, too
things that may
not be in view
for me to see
from where i stand
i'm still right here
take command
of your life
i have mine
intersections
so sublime

if one day
i lose sight
become a jerk
turn dark from bright
i do implore you
call my name
humor works
will do same
as long as it's
a two way street
as years progress
in time
the beat
may falter here
will stagger there
never fear
i'll be there
harmonies
will then entwine
growing strong
twisting vine
let it be
we can choose
truth and love
we can't loose
