This is my blog -I will promise to blog weekly...

My book Mystery of the Hats has been nominated for the Cybil Award. I am honored. Even if I don't win, the consideration is an honor.

I now have a shopping cart with Pay Pal to purchase Mystery of the Hats. This will make it easier to obtain my book. One of my grand daughters Brittany, the one that posed as the ghost for my book, took State with her school vollyball team. Then one of my grandsons, Mark, was runner-up with his school's marching band, for the State title. I am very proud of both of them.

There are a few things that have to be done to my rental before any can buy it, and I have been working on them. I still have a few more to finish. The play adaption of my book Mystery of the Hats is going fairly smooth. Writing a script is different than a book. I have to keep rewriting because I forget important things, like stage direction, lighting effects, and so on. I am working on the next book idea on and off. If anyone that has any experience in playwriting would be willing to give me advice I would appreciate it.

It is now October. I know I promised to blog weekly but I got caught up in other things. I am back and I hope to pick-up where I left off. Things are getting better. I am in the process of selling a rental house that I own. I have wanted to sell it for several years, but it wasn't in the cards until now. My wife is buying me a chain-saw for my birthday, which was the third of this month. We are having trouble picking out the right one. I saw one I liked but a customer of the store came up to me and told me not to buy it, because he had one and it was junk. Now I am afraid to buy any. My grandaughter has auditioned for the Circle of Lights. Here in Indianapolis the center of the city has a monument and streets surround it creating a circle. During the Christmas season lights are strung from the top of the monument creating a Christmas tree. Just before Thanksgiving the lights are turned on and part of the celebration of this event is a show with local talent. My Hannah tried out for a part in the show. We haven't heard if she got it or not. The name of my book Mystery of the Hats was orginaly named Hannah's Hats.

I just read an interesting story about a mosquito, but not a normal mosquito; this mosquito was developed in Britian. It is a high pitched noise that only young people can hear. The purpose of this mosquito is to dispurse teenagers from loitering in front of places of buisness. The sound is unpleasant and inaudiable to adults, and it is touted as a teenager repellant. As we get older our ability to hear high pitched sounds diminish. The noise will not drive away serious shoppers, only the young ones. It appears that now the tables have turned. Someone has reinvented the mosquito and made it a cell phone ringtone. Now kids can recieve calls in school during class and the teacher will never know.

This has been a long week. I know I promised to blog weekly but I have been so busy. My eldest grandson is having his high school graduation open house here and my wife and I are getting the house sprused up for it. Then my youngest grandson graduated from pre-school, and then my newest youngest grandson was born. We have grandchildren getting awards at school, ball games, niece's and friends children getting married, and last but not least-my soon-to-be-released book. Is this a good excuse or what? I will return soon to my blog.

I recieved my cover proof of my book Mystery of the Hats. I thought it was exciting to see the book proofs but this was fantastic. Now I can't wait for the complete book which is due for release June 18, 2006.

April 1, 2006

April fools day. I always enjoy this day. I don't know why because the pranks I try to play on others don't usually work. I don't know if it is because I am a bad prankster or everyone I know is smarter than I. They don't work on me either because I am paronoid all day on April first. No matter what the situation, good or bad, the first thing I think is that this is a joke. Some day this attitude wil come up to bite me.

The birds are coming back. I saw red birds, red-winged black birds, blue birds, and robins. Now I am waiting on the humming birds. My obligation to society has been postponed. I got a call from the courthouse stating that I should not show up for jury duty. The trial has been resecheduled because of the weather. I'm glad, because we got 5.5 inches of snow.

March 20, 2006

this is my third. I am scheduled to do my duty and appear at the court house for jury duty tomorrow, but my 5 year old grandson told me that today is the first day of spring and it is supposed to snow. I may not get out of my driveway. If I am going to get stuck at home tomorrow would be the day to do it. My daughter,Michelle, designed and built this site. She stayed up until 4am the other day working on it. It's still a work in progress but a lot is done. If you click on a link and nothing happens try again the next time you visit, it may work. I have never done a blog before but I am not good at verbalizing my feelings so maybe by utilizing the prose I may be able to accomplish it. I would like to know if anyone is reading this so please sign my guest book or send me an email.

I'm still just playing around.
