Running Toward The Goal

I have not yet reached my goal, and I am not perfect. But Christ has taken hold of me. So I keep on running and struggling to take hold of the prize. My friends, I don't feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for what is ahead. I run toward the goal, so that I can win the prize that God offers because of what Christ Jesus has done. All of us who are mature should think in this same way. And if any of you think differently, God will make it clear to you. But we must keep going in the direction that we are now headed. Philippians 3:12-16 (CEV)

Father                                   Son                              Holy Spirit

I don't mean to say I am perfect. I haven't learned all I should even yet, but I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ saved me for and wants me to be. No, dear brothers, I am still not all I should be, but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God is calling us up to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for us. I hope all of you who are mature Christians will see eye-to-eye with me on these things, and if you disagree on some point, I believe that God will make it plain to you--if you fully obey the truth you have. Philippians 3:12-16 (Living)

Father                                   Son                              Holy Spirit

I give thanks and praise to my heavenly Father. I remember finding out I was a long distance runner. In doing this, I started entering charity runs. During training and the actual events, I always remember never stopping until I reached the finish line. I always had the drive to keep running no mater how tired I felt. My goal was to finish the run without stopping at any point during the run, and this I accomplished. I now have the Lord Jesus Christ in my life, and I look back on all those runs, and I realize it was not me that kept running, it was my heavenly Father in me. God was building me up, preparation (God had a plan) and He knew in time (the exact time) I would be able to relate to it, because he sent the Holy Spirit to assure of it. God taught me something about my running without stopping. It was not the flesh that was in control, it was the Spirit. I remember always having faith that I could finish without stopping and that I did with the love and grace of God.  Now I am running for the Father the Son and Holy Spirit. I' am running with the Love, obedience, faith, trust, and commands of our Father in heaven God. This run will last from now and throughout my days in this world and thereafter. Our heavenly Father has revealed to me that I can finish His run with the faith of His Word. I want to run for God because this is what God trained me to do and what God wants me to do. I praise God with the fruit of my lips. Emanuel "God with us"
