Lady of the 21st Century

Welcome to my world
I am the lady of the 21st century
I will be your guide today
in my house, The penitentiary

Let me show you my empty nursery
God forbid I would ever dare...
My children would probably be born
to die in a foreign war somewhere

This is my haven and sanctuary
My loo has become my throne
Here I can stay with my loneliness
and cry and vomit all alone

Every mirror is safe and covered
since I'm too old to be a honey
That's what they said in Playboy
so my man wants a new bunny

I don't care about war or famine
I am too worried to become fat
there is no time for care or empathy
when I have to keep my belly flat

I am the 21st century lady
and I live in a shallow time
Being unique and self-confident
is the same as committing a crime

To be good looking has more importance
than the true beauty of the heart
And as we are comparing and judging
our perfect world is falling apart

But those are boring words of wisdom
Next time I will show you my attic
I promise it will be something special
even more fanatic and psychosomatic

I am a lady of the 21st century
I am the model and pioneer
I'll form my sisters and disciples
to look like playmates of the year

Yes, if we all stick together
and aim to look just the same
We will live in perfect harmony
and life will no more be a game.
