Our Purpose
Oh God, we
saw a Miracle today,
in the faces
of Your people here.
Despite the
terror and helplessness,
the sobbing
and the fear.
Your children
held each other up,
and comforted
one another,
For we all
lost friends, co-workers, parents,
and our precious
sons and daughters.
We wept and
prayed for losses of life,
and dared
to hope for miracles.
Our brothers
and sisters here, "Dear Lord,
For them,
please send Your Angels."
You only asked
that we love them Lord,
Our sisters
and our brothers
Did you witness
the love of Your people Lord,
As they gave
their lives for others?
"No greater
gift", You asked of them,
Your Angels
that lived here on earth.
You called
them Home, and Heaven sings,
and rejoices
for all of their worth.
We who were
left behind,
will always
wonder "why?"
and pray,
Lest we never forget ,
"Our Losses
of Love and Light"
America is
One, under You, Dear God.
With our blood
and tears we defend it.
The land of
freedom and dreams, Dear God.
and it is
our purpose to keep it.
