The Green Pajamas
Last Night Was Like The End Of The World
The yellow moon is shining down
Every bar is closed down town
She just finished kicking my heart around
And I ain't supposed to cry
Love is a funny thing
I went out and bought her a diamond ring
I gave up drinking and everything
To find it was all a lie
Last night was like the end of the world
In the thunder and the rain
Down the road to ruin and pain
At the end of the world
I thought she was an angel
Sent down just for me
I thought that she was beautiful
As anyone could be
But the first time she said she loved me
I wanted to run away
Now it seems like she's the one
Who's running away from me
Last night was like the end of the world
In the thunder and the rain
Down the road to ruin and pain
At the end of the world
Her perfume still smells pretty
Her pillow still smells sweet
I must be crazy
Thinking I can go to sleep
And I know I'll always love her
Like she forced me in to doin'
How was I to know that I was on the road to ruin
Was I so ungreatful, was I so unkind
Or was it I wasn't man enough for her body and her mind
Last night was like the end of the world
With the thunder and the rain
Down the road to ruin and pain
At the end of the world
And I hope she finds the happiness
That I found in this bottle
Down the road to ruin and pain
At the end of the world
