The Green Pajamas
Waiting For The Night To Fall
I know you're young
I know you're bright
With colt-ish legs that make you tall
You pick up your violin
Waiting for the night to fall
The autumn air
Blows through you hair
Down from the window in the hall
You put down your violin
Waiting for the night to fall
I pick up the violin
And put it down again
Your silhouettes move on the wall
It's funny how they wave at me
Waiting for the night to fall
You're in the front
She's in the back
From where I sit I see it all
Weeping willow is weeping for me
Waiting for the night, for the night to fall
And when it's done
It starts raining
We dress you back up like a doll
My wife's singing Barbara Allen to me
Naked in the autumn breeze
Happy as I'll ever be
Waiting for the night to fall
