One of the most peculiar characteristics of the Jarocho Veracruzano (people of Veracruz), it is the aptitude to fuse the reality, the magic, the legend and the imagination in a daily way, never being known the proportion that there guards each of these elements.
"Al Golpe del Guatimé" is the conclusion of many years working in the music and study the origin : the orient music, Africam music, spanish music and native music. Guatimé means: liane, it is usually used for to blow horse.

Last year "Al golpe del Guatime" went to Festival "Cumbres de Garonna" in Bordeaux, France and made a record and Tina Modotti: The Roses for "winter & winter" about the traditional Mexican music, and played in the festival "Encuentro de Jaraneros de California" in Los Angeles, USA.

The group is making a project with the Canadian group 'CONSTANTINOPLA' called "Terra Nostra" in a tour by Europe, Canada and Mexico by a period of five years now.

Jose Ángel Gutiérrez: is forty six years old, he began to play music twenty-seven years ago. It has played in important scenes(theatre) of the city of Mexico since as: the Theatre of the City, National Audience, Ollín Yoliztli theatre and others, likewise he has realized tours along the whole Mexican Republic, played in important festivals in France and The United States, he was a co-founder of the Group " White Monkey " and musical inheritor of Arcadio Hidalgo, formed a part of the Group of "Negro" Salvador Ojeda and accompanied several times on the Singer Vernácula "Tehua", formed his own Group of experimental music in which he was combining Jarocho music and Raga Hindú, promoter and diffuser of the Jarocha Llanera music in all territory of Mexico, he is also A Decimista and author of the book " Décimas, Legends and jarochos poems ", his first disc is a sample of Sound Traditional jarocho except three pieces of his own inspiration, which show clear influence Arab - Spanish.

Teresita de Jesús Islas: Dancer and singer of Son Jarocho and poet, has played jarana for seventeen years. Through penetration into the plastic arts, she has presented exhibitions of Painting at Public Institutions and published poems as well. She has also taken part in festivals in Veracruz, Zacatecas, Chihuahua, Nuevo Leon, Mexico City and the United States. Being Co-author of some Sones that interprets the group, she's a passionate of Culture & Arts.
