When you commune with God, is it some kind of quest?
Or something you want God to do?
Are there long periods of time when you don't talk to God
Until some problem or difficulty comes to you?
You know you're a Christian, but in your daily walk
Are you telling God what He wants to hear?
Or do you only call upon God when something happens
To something or someone you hold dear?
Do you think you get God's attention quickly
Just because you have a need?
Or go to church each Sunday and carry
A Bible you never read?
Although God knows your thoughts
And will always be your friend
If you ignore him in everything you do
There's a message that you send.
It is saying you only need God
When trouble comes your way,
And unless there's some kind of problem,
You don't feel a need to pray.
Prayer is not always asking
About some problem or a need,
Try normal conversation with God
And pleasure is guaranteed.
Tell Him how you feel about
People, places and things,
And you'll be surprised
At the closeness to God it brings.
When you stay near to God
And talk with Him every day,
You'll know He's much more likely
To hear what you have to say
God dwells in your Praises because
His word tells us that is so,
Just praise and talk to God continually,
And He'll be with you wherever you go.
