If we hesitate to choose which utensil to use
While dining at a fashionable place,
And all the seating there was appointed with care
Not to mix up social standing or race.
Conversation will fade when reference is made
to a scientific or political point of view.
While some reckless folks turn to off-color jokes
Because they don't know what else to do.
But let someone expound to those sitting around
What the Holy Word of God has to say.
About Jesus being Lord, and who can afford
To go without prayer every day.
There are some who will gasp while others will clasp
Their hand to their mouth in disgust
Because someone would dare to upset the affair
By saying that Religion's a must.
He goes on to say in a most confident way
That Jesus can forgive every sin,
Can come into your heart, give your life a new start
And give you complete peace within.
Conversation will lull when somebody who's dull
Says: "Save that kind of speech for Church".
The first man would say, :"Folks consider today
That this could be the end of your search.
For God made a way for Jesus to pay
All the debt that's for you and for me,
He suffered cruel death and with his last breath
As He hung upon Calvary's tree
It is finished, He said as He died in our stead
Fulfilling the Holy Decree,
The words that would thrive and Raise him alive
And make us Eternally Free.
