Truth and Facade

You've come into my house with complacency in your heart. Your facade is in place, you can really play the part. No one realizes that you're just playing a role And all the time you are really playing with your Soul.

You've heard the call so many times the invitation no longer attracts, And your fantasies about Salvation have distorted the facts. In Church, you've sung the songs, how Jesus died for you, And only been fooling yourself because you know it isn't true.

You've stood and sung His praises, people think that you're sincere, You sing "The Savior shed His blood" and even shed a tear. But inside, your heart is hard, your actions only fake, And you risk missing Heaven with every breath you take.

The guilt overcomes you while at night you turn and toss, For instead of carrying all the blame you can leave it at the cross. It is time to escape the sin which you've tried so hard to hide, And give to Jesus the Guilt and Blame you've kept bottled up inside.

You already know He loves you, learned at your Mother's knee, As she taught you to give your life to Him, and become forever free, Exchanging a life of deceit for perfect peace within, Telling others there's a Hell to shun, and with Jesus, a Heaven to win.
