If you're grieving over the loss of a loved one or a pet
And you're feeling just about as lonely as you can get,
You've forgotten that you gave your heart to Jesus long ago,
And made vows to keep him with you wherever you may go.
You told everyone you knew all about your precious Lord
Dominating every conversation until people got bored.
Then you lost heart when people wouldn't listen to you
Because you interfered with what they wanted to do,
People don't want to hear that what they're doing is wrong
Even if it's suggestive words in a beautiful song.
You allowed their indifference to drain your zeal away
Until your friendship with Jesus just seemed to fade away.
And over the years you've forgotten to call upon Him
Whenever situations and problems get ugly and grim.
Now stop and think it over, it's an awful price to pay
Facing life with it's sorrows and problems every day.
When Jesus has all the answers for each and every trial,
And can give you the joy to keep you smiling all the while.
Your heart is torn right now because of suffering within,
You're farther from God now than you ever should have been
Jesus is waiting to enfold you in his love and then
Restore your heart and life to your first love again
Your grief and your pain will be all melted away
You'll know once again that Jesus is the only way.
