Day of Infamy

It was a shorter day than others that time of the year
When strong men's hearts trembled with doubt and fear,
Jesus, who endured agony scourging and shame,
They hung on a cross and scornfully displayed his name

He silently bore the abuse, the infamous indignity,
Then called upon The Father to Forgive them, and you and me.
Suddenly there was darkness throughout the entire land,
It was three hours of pitch black, they didn't understand

That the Son of God was hanging on their cross,
And they would be the ones to ultimately suffer loss.
Jesus said it is finished, and hung his precious head,
After giving up the Ghost, Jesus was finally dead.

Then they took him from the cross and laid him in a tomb,
While his followers sadly whispered the fatal doom.
To the world was revealed the empty tomb's open door,
For Jesus had risen the victor the world had waited for.

Gods wrath now appeased, sin could rule no more,
And by believing on Jesus man can now enter heaven's door.
His blood bought soul belongs to God who‘s with him every day,
He can give his thanks to Jesus when he lifts his eyes to pray.

But if a slip displeases God, You know just what to do,
Say: " forgive me Lord in Jesus name," the message just went through.
And Jesus tells Satan: ”My blood will completely atone,
This is my child now and belongs to me alone."
