When you heard "Keep on keeping on" it didn't mean much to you,
Because you had a busy life and had so much to do.
And now time is passing by and you're getting on in years,
You've learned that "keep on keeping on" is only filled with fears.
You know your days are numbered, your nights are fearfully long,
You know the Lord is with you and sadness is surely wrong.
But former friends have deserted, loved ones are all gone,
All there is left to do now is "keep on keeping on."
If time hangs heavy on your hands, you're sad and lonely too,
You can find an Orphanage, a day care center will do,
Rest Homes, local Hospitals, there's someone needing love,
And you can "keep on keeping on" while receiving from above.
Others "keep on keeping on," but in a different way.
Time is dragging for them in all they do and say.
They don't know the savior, and just sit and stare and sigh.
They, too, "keep on keeping on" just waiting till they die.
You can have a ministry no matter what your age.
The book about your life can open a whole new page.
The master can make it as fresh as tomorrow's dawn.
He'll give a whole new meaning to "keep on keeping on."
Take love from Him and give it to that one who's so depressed,
Who needs to know that Jesus gives love that meets the test.
Instead of standing at the window and waiting for the dawn,
You'll both be happy in Jesus, and "keep on keeping on."
