The Bible says that God will hear you every time you call,
But that's no assurance his response will help you when you fall.
If your only communication with God is when you're low,
And you say to yourself: "There's one thing I know.
I'll go to my Christian Friend and together we'll pray,
And God will hear us then and make things go my way."
Let me tell you friend, that's not the way it works.
He's not a God who just waits around and lurks
In a corner somewhere just awaiting your eager call.
No Sir, my friend, it doesn't work that way at all.
He doesn't hear the prayer of someone He doesn't know,
You can't get his help just because you need it so.
What you have to realize is what a sinner you are,
And that God and sin are constantly at war.
And, that God sent his Son to die in your place,
And not only you, but the whole human race.
For God had decreed that bloodshed was the price
An unblemished lamb was the perfect sacrifice.
Then God sent his only son to pay that penalty
And just by believing on him, you can be free.
Accept him as your savior now, become a Christian, too,
Then He will know you and save you through and through.
Just call on him every day, give him thanks and praise,
Gain that sweet assurance, all the rest of your days
That when the storms of life surround you, the tempest so wild,
No matter what happens now, you are still his child.
When your life is ending and your eyes are growing dim,
Because you are his Child, you'll spend Eternity with Him.
