No one knew the torment, the despair, the dread Jesus felt as He faced desolate days ahead. Not even his disciples and friends were aware of the tremendous burden He must bearBy F. W. (Lucky) HopeBecause He knew the future and the cross He must endure fulfilled His Father's plan to make our eternity secure. The nails, the stripes, the crown of thorns He'd wear, It was your sins, and mine, that placed them there.
There was no other way, He knew His Father's will when He carried my cross up Golgotha's hill. The Devil and His Demons had filled the world with Sin, Mankind had turned from God and had evil thoughts within.
But Jesus' final sacrifice when He obediently gave his life fulfilled God's ultimate plan to obliterate Sin and strife that existed between God and man forever clear the way for fellowship with him each and every day.
The blood that was shed for redemption blotted out all blame, Salvation comes so easy, just by breathing Jesus' name. But not because a cross was where He bled and died as blood and water gushed from his wounded side.
Christ gave up his life but He did not die in vain for He had the power to lay down his life, and to take it up again. Filling the world with joy, He banished sadness and gloom as we rejoice in victory because of the empty tomb. He is risen, He is risen, is the message for you and me, He is exalted to the highest heaven, and we are forever free! The Angels proclaim loudly as they assemble round the throne, The King of Kings and Lord of Lords is soon coming for His own.
