When you sing songs like "He leadeth me" or "I need thee every hour",
You want to serve the Lord each day and feel his mighty power.
But when you're not in God's house and going your own way
The Holy spirit is not in everything you do and say.
As you go about your business the Holy Spirit is left out,
You expect Him, on sabbath days, to cancel every doubt
That prevents the healing and cleansing of your soul,
Your thoughts remain on finance and reaching for your goal.
You put your dollar in the offering plate as it passes by
Saying "I've done my part" and later wonder why
You've had trouble with finances, health has not been good,
You're not living daily in obedience like you know you should.
Compliance with God's word with Love, Giving and Prayer
Is the only key to freedom from every earthly care.
When your thoughts are all on Jesus and how He died for you,
The blood He shed on Calvary will cleanse and heal you too.
Then you'll sing of Salvation, and sing it from your heart,
Because Jesus changed your life and gave you a brand, new start.
For you've been made His servant, and everything you do
Will demonstrate to others; Jesus' changeless love for you.
