As you become awakened and rise to meet the day,
Do you ask for Jesus' help as you go along your way?
As you pursue the living and loving that life can bring,
Do you spend all your efforts in the shadow of the King?
Whenever problems or obstacles happen to come along,
Are you able to meet them squarely, whether right or wrong?
Do you have trouble concentrating on some little thing,
Because you don't abide in the shadow of the King?
During the day as you press on toward the mark,
Do your Spirits sag and lack that certain spark?
Don't forget Jesus is still in control of everything,
And His love will lift you, in the shadow of the King.
As the day starts to end and your strength begins to wane,
And weariness starts causing a body ache or pain,
Just remember who you are, that you can do anything,
While you keep abiding in the shadow of the king.
When the Sun sets in the west and day turns to night,
And you feel the days trials will somehow come out right,
Get down on your knees and tell Jesus everything,
And you know you're dwelling in the shadow of the King.
