ZACCHAEUS

Zacchaeus was a little man who climbed up in a tree
Because it was the Master that He wanted to see.
Jesus wouldn't see Him even in his wildest dream
He'd surely be unnoticed, or so it would seem.

Before looking, the Son of God already knew
That Zacchaeus was waiting to see him passing through.
And looking up at Zacchaeus, everyone heard him say:
Come down, Zacchaeus, I must abide at your house today.

Prominent people thought they'd be first in Jesus' plans,
But He knew that they were just publicity fans.
It was their bubble of pride that Jesus quickly burst
When He selected a little tax collector first.

Zacchaeus said: "Lord, you may be sure
That I'm giving half my wealth to the poor.
And I also will immediately repay
Four times what I falsely took away."

Jesus said "Because of what you say,
Salvation Has come to your house today.
I have come, though life may be tempest tossed,
To seek and to save the one that was lost."

Now this can be a lesson to us today,
That Jesus still cares for the lost anyway.
It doesn't matter about deeds or height,
The Blood of Jesus makes everything right.

Salvation can come to your house today,
You simply open your heart and say:
"Jesus, forgive me, I know I've done wrong,
And in your hands is where I belong."

Your heart will be full of Joy and empty of sin,
You'll forget your past and a new life will begin.
Old habits and cravings will all depart
Because Jesus now abides in your heart.
