Can you direct me to Easy Street,
Where the soothing breeze,
Comforts your face,
And True Life is found complete?

I took a left down the road aways.
Stopped on the corner of "Betray and Deceit".
Amazed at the liars, I would meet.

My heart has been heavy,
And, my soul has been weary,
And, I'm tired, after walking for days.

I got lost in a town called, "I Don't Care",
Where I couldn't find a friend.
The people loved to party and dine.
After throwing precious pearls to swine,
I found another dead end.

Can you direct me to Easy Street,
Or to the narrow path?
I have blisters on my feet,
And, I'm tired of evil wrath.

I kept passing Heartbreak Hotel.
Along a strip called, "Misfortune's Way",
Near the wide, wide road to hell.
I rested at a place called, "Mercy",
On a shadowed shore,
With a prayer and a song,
I had to move along.

I turned a corner,
And, found "My Pleasure Avenue",
Everything was me, me, me,
Forget a thing called "you".

Can you direct me to Easy Street,
And to a place called "home";
A cheery place,
A restful place,
A place of honeycomb?

The place where people care,
And, they always love to share.
Oh, please Sweet Jesus,
Take me there.
I no longer want to roam.
