A life full of disappointments,
Loss and hurts me so.
Missing sweet I love you's,
With no choice, but, to let go.
Hanging on by a Jesus Thread,
Lord, please, don't let me go.
Mend this broken heart of mine,
And strengthen me to grow.

Oh, the pain from rejection's stare.
Trials and tribulations unfair.
Hanging on by a Jesus Thread.
Knowing You are always there,
And I just can't make it.
I just can't take it.
Weak and shattered.
Little mattered,
Without You there to care.

Hanging on by a Jesus Thread.
Oh, how I need a stitch, or two.
I'm weak and weary;
Dark and dreary;
Far from Glory Shout.
Shamefully, You know me well,
And, what I am all about.
I can't live up to You.

If only I could change the scene.
The people would not be so mean,
Or love to lie and cheat.
I could finally sing so sweet,
Of True Love, Light, and Life complete.

How strong that Jesus Thread,
That's been there through sinful dread;
That has seen every tear, I've shed.
A Thread worth more than gold, jewels,
Or any earthly worth.
That Thread that leads me to my God,
And to the real Truth.
Though the Thread may cut me,
He will never leave me to the dead.
Always, ever clinging;
Hanging by a Jesus Thread.
