JESUS HAD A LITTLE LAMB

Jesus had a little lamb.
It's face was black as coal,
And everywhere that Jesus went,
The lamb would not always go.
It followed a sheep out the gate, one day,
A wolf in sheep's disguise.
The lamb was led estray,
By a sheep, he thought wise.

The wolf led him down the path,
to destruction and despair.
With vain cares and worry,
The lamb followed wolf everywhere.

The lamb was cold and dirty;
Lost as a sheep could be.
The wolf had plans to kill him,
After deceitful torture and mockery.
The sheep began to look like wolf,
A little more every day.

Where was Jesus, the Shepherd,
The Savior from Galilee?
He was always looking for,
His lamb, with face of coal.
The lamb, sick and dirty,
had no idea of the wolf's goal.
Wolf was very happy as he
planned lamb stew.

The lamb was lost and tortured,
And didn't know what to do.

He began to scream for Jesus,
And he screamed with all his might.
The Lord heard his cry,
And found him in the darkest night.
Jesus carried him around his neck,
And brought lamb back into His fold.
The lamb was very sick,
And shivered from the cold.
Jesus nursed him back to health,
And made him well and whole.
Jesus had a little lamb,
It's face was white as snow,
And, everywhere that Jesus went,
The lamb was sure to go.
