untitled (5/19/04) go out through the wooden screen back door exit happ’ly past cultivated goldenrod and dried tan unsheaved grass stalks stand silent before the elder stately hemlock and realize that your waking in this short scene is but a glimpse of a place that you will spend a life time to revisit and endless series of attempts to recapture and reconstruct this short stroll has opened your senses to a freedom that you will be bound to attain steeped in pleasant nostalgia the dwelling much more painful in this place that strived for birth why was this site so sheltered tumult and torment passed these stalks survived the ice storms and stately stand emerging in contrast and inviting in calling and in drawing that part so held within you that rarely rests from craving and rarely stops for leaving that longs and loves for living in this idyllic sheltered plot *to Lindsay III
