When you knocked on the door to my heart,
you did it gently. You didn't demand to be let in,
you didn't ask over and over again.
You said you would wait as long as it took,
without hesitation.
Time wasn't a factor back then, it was the future.
That's what you wanted with me, and that's
what I prayed for with you.
We were both hurt, so it wasn't an easy thing
for either of us.
There was that certain feeling inside us, but how would we
know that this just wouldn't be another heartbreak
in the making? Hurt can be a powerful deterrent.
I'm the happiest man on earth because you didn't
give up when you could have, and because you didn't
walk away when you might have. You had patience,
which goes along with many of the aspects of love<3
For whatever kept you standing beside me, for all
the love and caring you showed, for trying as hard as
you did to keep us as one......thank you<3
