APOLOGIES
Apologies
The hobo sits on the lonely streets
Nodding hello to the strangers he meets
Hoping that one of the people he greets
Will give him something, he'd kiss their feets
Excuse me sir said he in a voice so light
I need a coat to make it through the night
The man responded with a face full of fright
You can't have MY coat, and i dont want a fight
Get away from me! just get outta my sight
That hobo didn't act like he was mad
Smile on his face he looked like he was glad
But deep inside him that hobo was sad
All the people he met seemed to be so bad
He curled up and prepared for sleep
Not really tired he tried counting sheep
He had no coat he was very cold
And ringing in his head the words he was told
Get outta my sight you are an eyesore
Get outta my sight what are ya here for?
Get outta my sight I dont wanna look at you
Get outta my sight I'm too blind to see I'm ugly too
The night was colder than any other was
His mind was wandering for no reason because
The more he'd think the angrier he'd feel
He just wanted a coat.. not even a meal
And as he breath grew thin and his heart did slow
Whether he'd survive or not he did not know
And his last thought as he drifted off that night
Was how this wrong he could possibly right
And darkness crept over his mind just then
And he did not care who he was or where he'd been
The next day the man with a coat passed by
The hobo was gone; he didn't care why
He figured that he might really have died
But he didn't stop; not a tear he'd cry
He went to work and earned his pay
Thoughts filled his mind all throughout the day
That hobo thought he'd stay alive some other way
But he didn't learn while his clothes would fray
Oh well thought the man I do not care
It doens't matter how that hobo fared
And that man finished all his work
He didn't want these thought in his mind to lurk
So he walked home
He opened the house's red front door
It was eerily quiet not a thing was heard
He called out to is kids and wife
Saw them on the kitchen floor without any life
A note was found written by a bad man
After he read from his house he ran
All the note said is "I wont be cold anymore"
He never saw the back "next it's you i'll come for"
No sooner had that man left throught the door of red
Than he saw the hobo; next thing he knew he was dead
But that wasn't the last thing he heard
The hobo had to get in one last word
He said "hey you... you missed the moral of the story
If you're gonna leave a man to die... at least say you're sorry"
