BELIEVE OR DIE
Is it love for Him or hate for naught
Answers to your questions sought
Live and believe, live evermore
Live in disbelief, and close life's door
When I opened my eyes all that I could see
Was worship and happiness all around me
You worship a god who loves all he has made
But hates all the ones who can't make the grade
A god who promised a people eternal life
Because they lived forever in strife
--Took it away gave it away
Jewish oppression gains his support
Till finally the Jews their foes could thwart
--Took it away gave it away
Sent himself in mans form to they
Expecting them to find their way
--Took it away gave it away
Told them to obey their rules
Broke them all to test the fools
--Took it away gave it away
"Forgave" the men who nailed Him to a cross
But still eternal life was their eternal loss
--Took it away gave it away
They had been raised to not believe
So this gift they could not recieve
They knew not that which they did
They only did what they thought they were bid
Did the thing they believed to be right
Killed the man who said he was the light
The blasphemer ridiculed all of God's laws
Pointed out all of his people's flaws
--Took it away gave it away
Rich in faith but poor in spirit
These people were so very near it
It came to them but they passed it by
Ever since then, God no longer tried
--He took away eternity
--What makes you think he gave it to ye?
Because in the era of christ's day
Your Hebrew father found his way
Was persecuted for his great faith
Perhaps he died for this great trait
But before he did your family was born
From the Jewish faith were they then torn
Damned by them but blessed by we
As Zachaes they'd climb a tree
Just in case Him they could see
Catch a sideways glimpse at He
Time went on and alive you became
But things are not as then the same
Now you look him in the eye
If they saw you I think they'd cry
You stand and think you can pretend
Who created you would be your friend
Take your pain away from you
Forgive your sins, you're born anew
Because you were taught this thing from birth
This thing which is what eternity's worth
That man who died was God in flesh and bone
Those who killed him can not have know
The ones who 'earned it' are you alone
The rest are damned for this 'sin' to atone
Damned to suffer in grief, to moan
To gnash their teeth they cry and groan
But He 'forgave' them from his throne
For not believing what they were shown
But no matter how much their virtue's grown
The gates of His kingdom are to them unknown
And when I ask you simply why
You will smile and tell a lie
Tell me that it is the truth
Tell me now, is the past a sooth?
Will this repeat at a future date
If it continues at it's rate
When he comes at the end of days
Will YOU believe him when he'll say:
"You were wrong, it's not you that's 'saved'
You were cruel and you were all ill behaved
You trusted my words but not my ways
I'm saving the ones who I forgave
Suffer forever you'll have naught what you crave
Like you condemned others over you I wash as a wave
Think what you want but I died for all, not for you
Not so you'd think what you want to be true
You usurped my words to make your own clan
You violate your neighbors, violate my plan
My plan to love every man, woman and child
There is not a part to it you haven't defiled
All to find force in multidude
Just to find comfort in force
But you're ideas lack pulchritude
You only wanted life to be yours
If you're told that to live you have to believe
You will have two things over which to grieve
Either believe in this and believe in me (or die)
Or disbelieve move on but die in their eyes
Any rational man who believes in this
Will of course do what grants his wish
He'll believe because he has no choice
It's hard not to ignore THEIR voice
All sins are NOT the same to Me
All sins are NOT the same you see
The greatest sin is HYPOCRASY"
