To My Poems

This Page has some of my writings.
Some are new.
Some are old.
Some are revised.
But, they are all mine.
So, I would appreciate it
if you don't take these with out getting permission first.
Thank you.

This first poems is a revised version of one I wrote a few years ago.
I have had several people ask me about a quote I used from it.
I hope you enjoy it.
I wrote it in a turbulent time in my life.
Before I was married or even met my husband.
Before I had children or even conceived of the notion that I really would.

I am ME

I am me
I am one
I am many
I am changing

I am liked
I am disliked
I am loved
I am unloved

I am a worker
I am a student
I am a mentor
I am a mentee

I am looked up too
I am looked down on
I am forever changing
I am forever the same

I am a sister
I am a friend
I am and cousin
I am a daughter
I am an enemy

I am hated
I am loved
I am ridiculed
I am respected

I am one
I am many
I am changing
I am the same

I am me
Whether I am in a good mood
Whether I am in a bad mood
I am me

I am me
no matter who I am
no matter where I am
no matter what anyone thinks
I am me
and I will always be me

Written by Kimberly Colletti, December 1998

This poem was inspired by all the beauty around us.
The beauty that is over looked by most.
A beauty I have always seen.
For I am an Artist.
Until recently when my eyes were open
I thought the two most talented modern artist
were my Grandmother, Eileen Theresa Cunningham, and Georgia Okeith.
Granted they were both talented.
However, there is one more talented them or any other I have seen.

The Artist
An Artist sees beauty
Beauty were most don't
Beauty on the ground
Beauty on the horizon
Beauty above
Near and far

An Artist looks to others
Other Artist
Other visionist
Rembrant
Pecaso
Dali
Some from the past
Some from the present
Some famous
Some not

Some changing
Going threw different periods
Some always staying the same
All have visions of beauty

But, there is one Artist
One above all others
One that doesn't get thought about
One that has made some of the most beautiful work
One that is forever creating
One that is forever unchanging
One that is not mentioned in Art Classes
Not in modern art
Not in historical art

There is one artist above all
One that is over looked
One that we all see his creations
One that is over looked every day
One that is over looked every minute

We look up and see His works
We look straight and see His works
We look accross and see His works
We look around and see His works

This over looked Artist has works all around
This creator of beauty
This creator of what is taken for granted
This creator is God.
This creator is my God.

God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit
All are one
All are amazing
God the first and last creator of beauty

Have you acknowledged
The most amazing creator of Art
The most amazing creator of Beauty
Or like most
Have you not thought of Him
Have you taken His works for granted

If you don't believe
Then who painted that amazing sunrise
You stayed up all night to see
Because you knew it would take your breath

Who painted the beautiful evening sky
The sunset you sat on the beach to watch

Who painted the brillent stars
On black velvet of night

Who painted the golds and reds on the trees
That you travel to see in the fall

Who painted each individual snow flake
Many watch and play in
Who painted the white landscape
That you look at in amazement

Who did all this just right
That is all takes your breath away
When you aren't over looking it

Who else besides God
Could creat such visual beauty
Could creat such unending splenders
Who else could
Be the most creative artist ever
Who else could creat such works of art
That others would look at in awe
That others would appreciate
That others would want to copy
So many others would want to copy

No one
No one other then the most beautiful artist ever
God our inspiration.

A Grandmother

You lived 57 years
Some think that is long
Some think that is short
To live

But, You made the most of it
You were loving and caring
You took care of those you knew
And those you didn’t know

You touched many
Many more then you may know
You married
You loved your husband
You took care of him
More then most woman would

You had four boys
You raised them the best you could
You loved them
You cared for them
You took care of them
More and better them some mothers would

You had 12 grandchildren
You cared for them
You loved them
You took care of them
You helped raise most of them
Most of them are grown or almost grown

Some are still small
All these children loved you
They will still love you now that you are gone
The grown can teach the small
Tell them stories of you loving and caring
Funny and all

You were a good wife
You were a good mother
You were a good grandmother
You were a good mother in law

You stepped in for your daughter in laws
to help them threw
You stepped in to help them raise their kids
You stepped in to teach them what they didn’t know
You stepped in to take care of them
when they needed it most
You were there always for whoever needed you
You sister,
Your husband,
Your mother,
Your sons,
Your grandchildren
Just to name a few

However, there are many you don’t know
Whom you had touched
People around you unseen or untouched
People far away
People close to home
People whom could not see you with their eyes
People whom could not be touched by your hands
But, people touch just the same

You gave support
You gave courage to those you knew
You gave support
You gave courage to those you did not know.

We are all touched and blessed
For you we knew
Whether it be in passing,
In chatting
In church
In real life
In cyber life

Whether we were family
Or friend
Or acquaintance
Or stranger
You touched us all

You will be loved and missed
By one and by all
We were blessed to know you the short time we did
We will see you again with angels around you
For you were one here
So, they must surround you in heaven

God had sent you here to touch all our lives
Now he has called you home
