" Jimmy called Today "
I walked in through the front door, his Mom sat there on a chair.
I leaned forward and I hugged her, ran my hand across her hair.
She said I have to tell you something. You won't believe it when I say.
I just got off the telephone. Jimmy called today.
He said, Mom I'm really happy and I've been havin’ lots of fun.
I was a little scared at first, but now I know just everyone.
I've been playin’ lots of baseball. He had to go he couldn't stay
It was his turn to play third base again. Jimmy called today.
He says it's never cold there and the wind it never blows.
And, only if you want it too or at Christmas time it snows.
There are flowers nearly everywhere and little animals come out to play.
And the streets are paved with Gold. Jimmy called today.
He told me that he misses us and the cakes I used to bake.
And then he asked about our old dog. That cougar hound, Mr.Jake.
He said he hasn't seen him up there. Dogs must go a different way.
But he sure wants to see us soon. Jimmy called today.
He says there's lots of loggers there, and they're really happy all the time.
And they have lots of creeks and hills and stuff. And big spar trees to climb.
You never get in trouble, even if you disobey.
And there is tons of food and beer to drink. Jimmy called today.
He told me everyone who come there, has no scars or feels no pain.
There isn't any hate or crime, but there's a gold track logging train.
He told me don't be cryin and to give his loggin boots away.
Cause he won't be comin home again. Jimmy called today.
