Like waking from a dream
I opened my eyes and
Found myself
There in your room.
I stood
Broken, naked, alone,
Scarred by too much disillusionment
Needing something more
Than broken promises, ruined dreams.
And I began to wonder
If this had all been
A mistake.
I built you up into something I needed
So badly.
I saw you finally
Not so close now, not so naïve as I was.
I saw your face
A deception
That only caused me pain.
And I saw myself
Suddenly alone
Searching for something impossible
In places it could not exist.
There, in your room, I woke to find
You were never more then lies.
