A little about the author:
I am a 35 year old mother of three beautiful children. I have been married to a wonderful man for 18 years now. I am a survivor of physical, mental, emotional, and verbal childhood abuse. My hope is that I am able to reach out to others through my poetry and stories of hope and healing. I want all survivors to know that they are not alone.

~Looking through a child's eyes~
Looking through a child's eyes,
Filled with silent tears,
No response to her cries,
No one to calm her fears.
Looking through a child's heart,
The pain she has endured,
Not allowing fear to impart,
Keeping it inside and secured.
Looking through a child's mind,
Her innocence all but lost,
Happiness you will not find,
Her mental health it has cost.
Looking through a child's soul,
Cradled in the arms of her Lord,
His glorious love makes her whole,
Through His eyes she is adored.
