Card Captor Sakura Guide:

1. Sakura and the Mysterious Magic Book

The episode starts with the prophetic dream that Sakura gets over the first two seasons. We see there's a dark figure, a small creature flying next to Sakura, the Tokyo tower, and floating Clow Cards. Sakura wakes up before we see any more. When she goes down for breakfast her brother says that her stomping is like a monster, this is the start of the constant teasing that Touya gives her, the voice acting is very good in this show and you can tell that he isn't being spiteful. Sakura doesn't notice though and wishes she was tall enough to step on him. When Touya leaves Sakura compels herself to rush her food and catch up with him. Touya complains as usual but Sakura doesn't care, she only goes to meet "him". Touya's best friend, Yukito and Sakura's secret crush (at least she thinks it is though it is pretty obvious to everyone). At the school gates we meet the next important character, her best friend, Tomoyo. She really is the sweetest girl ever, very kind, although she does seem to have special attention for Sakura, along with a need to take pictures and videos of her because she's "so cute". In class she isn't paying attention to the lesson, she is still thinking about her dream and starts to doodle the creature she saw in her dream, Tomoyo asks what it is but Sakura is called to do some reading before she can answer. Sakura's real talent is at sports, she's a natural gymnast and has great hand eye co-ordination, which is why everyone is shocked that she dropped the baton (although she was still concentrating on the dream). Back home no one else is in and Sakura is about to make dinner. She hears a strange noise coming from her father's library in the basement and cautiously goes to investigate. A book called "The Clow" starts glowing and catches her eye. After taking it off the shelf the lock opens and she finds some cards in there. She takes the top one out and tries to pronounce the English name, eventually getting "Windy", suddenly a strong wind appears and all the cards scatter. The book glows again and a cute yellow/orange creature rises from the cover. The first thing Sakura notices is his Osaka accent before getting freaked and tries to remove his batteries. He gets away enough to explain that he is Keroberos, the guardian of the cards in the book and finds that they have all gone, except for the Windy card that Sakura still has. Sakura rushes her dinner and takes desert up to her room, offering it to Keroberos who is having no luck locating the cards. He tells Sakura that the cards are called Clow Cards and contain living magic; they were made by the powerful magician Clow Reed and sealed in the book. He tells Sakura that she will have to help him get them back. Sakura says that it's his fault he wasn't guarding them and they argue about this for a while (it's a shame this didn't keep up for a few episodes I think a it would have added a bit more comedy). Keroberos realizes that since she opened the book she must have some magic and tells her to stand still. He raises the key from the lock and creates a contract between it and Sakura, making her Card Captor Sakura. Sakura isn't too happy with this arrangement but her argument is cut short by the fly card. She ends up skating in her pyjamas to capture Fly. Keroberos says that Windy should be able to hold Fly but Sakura keeps having to run away before she can use it so she skates up a slope and jumps onto its back, giving her the time to bind and seal it. Keroberos says that she should use it and the wand's wings grow, allowing her to fly it like a witch's broomstick. She still protests at being called a card captor but is enjoying the flying and does seem warmer to the idea.

2. Sakura's Wonderful Friend

Keroberos is trying to wake Sakura up because she wanted to be up early. Half asleep, Sakura notices the Osaka accent, she realizes no one I the house speaks like that and sees the TV is off. Her eyes then go to Keroberos and she gets a shock, thinking out loud she guesses it's a stuffed animal before recognizing him as the guardian of the Clow Cards and quickly goes over the events of the previous episode. She still says that it's impossible for her to be a card captor but Keroberos points out that she managed to capture Fly. Touya is surprised that Sakura is up so early and she says that someone woke her up, though quickly changes her story to the alarm. She quickly eats breakfast and takes some snacks up to Keroberos. She tells him that her brother and father will be off to school soon so he can turn the TV on. She turns around to get something and sees that he has disappeared but is out of time and she leaves without having a look for him. She takes a detour to go past Yukito's house and she explains that she is the class monitor today so has to be in early so Yukito gives her some flowers to put in the room. Sakura sits down at her desk and Tomoyo comes in, saying she had to be in early to show her something. She puts her video camera down on the desk and plays a night scene with something flying past the moon, Sakura is a bit confused until she zooms in and shows that it was Sakura and Keroberos flying the previous night. Sakura is shocked that she saw this and shouts, "Hoe", Keroberos jumps out of her bag thinking that there was a Clow Card. Tomoyo recognizes him as the one flying next to Sakura. At break time Keroberos says that he wanted to see the everyday life of a card captor. Sakura introduces him and Tomoyo. Tomoyo mentions that he doesn't really look like a Keroberos and Sakura agrees, suggesting that he's more of a Kero-chan though he isn't initially pleased with it. We see the shadow of one of the boys playing football move and then the view switches back to Kero-chan finishing the story of how Sakura became Card Captor Sakura. Sakura again jumps in that she can't be a card captor but Tomoyo thinks that she'd do great and would love to see some magic so Sakura reluctantly releases the capture rod. Tomoyo seems pleased with this but says that she needs a special pose as a magical girl. At the end of the day everyone is walking out of school but their shadows are going back into the school. The next morning all the tables and chairs are piled up in the playground and in the rooms. Tomoyo suggests that maybe it's a Clow Card and back at Sakura's house Kero-chan agrees. He doesn't know what card piled them up but says it's a job for Card Captor Sakura. After a short argument about if she should go he says they are going to school tonight . Sakura doesn't want to go to school at night, we see her thinking about ghosts, she says that she won't go. Tomoyo says that nights could be dangerous so she'll have to go too. And she says that she'll have to tape it too. With that agreed, Tomoyo says they need to work on her magical girl pose. Sakura is waiting by the school and Tomoyo turns up with her bodyguards in the car and a van behind that. They take the car back at her request. Tomoyo takes Sakura into the van to reveal loads of costumes leaving Sakura a bit overwhelmed. Tomoyo says "When you do special things, you should wear special clothes!", Kero-chan is in complete agreement, saying that if she doesn't look like a card captor the cards won't think much of her.. After a quick change and much embarrassment from Sakura, she also gives Kero-chan a bow tie too, when told it looks good on him he gets very vain and fishes for a few more compliments. Sakura hears a noise and gets scared but Kero-chan senses the card. A statue flies at them but Tomoyo notices a bodiless shadow lifting it and the students' shadows from earlier all come out. She uses windy but it just goes through shadow, Kero-chan says it has too many shadows and that light would get rid of the students' shadows, leaving just the card that could be attacked. The shadows grab the rod and try to pull Sakura down when Tomoyo turns the lights in the school on. The shadows disappear. Sakura thanks Tomoyo and flies at the card and uses windy when we see her new magical girl pose, at least she doesn't drop the rod like she does with the baton. Sakura seals the card. The next morning, Tomoyo is in the audio-visual room watching the action from the night before. She asks to be told whenever Sakura is going after cards as she has to film them and will bring her costume with her.

3. Sakura's Heart-throbbing First Date

Sakura's class is visiting the aquarium today, and she is busy making friends with the fish. One of Sakura classmates tells the others that they are going to see the penguin show, before anyone can blink Sakura is already racing toward the escalators singing. she and her friends watch the penguin show clapping as the penguin performs tricks. As the trainer is waving toward the crowd, she suddenly jerks and is pulled underwater by a small swirling whirlpool! Everyone cries out, the penguin dives under the water to help its trainer, but it too is caught by a whirl pull! Sakura starts to pound on the glass shouting, then who should come along with a bucket of fish but Touya! He dives into the water and sets the trainer and the penguin free. Later Sakura, while eating some pancakes, is telling Kero what happened, before they could talk anymore Touya comes home. Sakura grabs Kero and hurtles him up the stairs. Touya passes Sakura on the stairs and says hello, while in the kitchen he points out to her on aa board that he was working that day and swipes some of her pancakes! Sakura starts to yell at him, when Yukito comes in! He asks her if he could have some, and blushing she says that she'll bring some up to Touya's room. She brings up the pancakes, but then she sees the door to Touya's room is closed! Yukito's voice is heard from inside the room and he opens the door for her, saying that he had a feeling she was outside. In her room Kero is trying to figure out the incident at the aquarium when Sakura comes in. Sakura grabs Kero and hugs him to her chest, seems she forgot all about cardcaptoring. Kero pulls her back to reality and tells her that he's figured out the Water is the one that nearly made the trainer and the penguin drown. At first Sakura thinks that capturing this card will be simple, but Kero thinks otherwise. The next day, Sakura is trying to figure out how to catch the Water card, when Tomoyo comes along, after talking they are both starting for home. Tomoyo is walking, while Sakura is on her roller blades. She thanks Tomoyo for listening to her and takes off, on the way she does some more thinking. Kero says that even if she somehow combined the three cards that she captured so far, they still wouldn't be able to capture Water. Just then she bumps into someone, apologizing Sakura looks up and finds that she's bumped into Yuki! They start to walk and talk and Yuki invites her to have lunch with him, Sakura says yes, then dancing and yelling she goes home. She runs up the stairs and calls Tomoyo, and leaves a message. The next day Sakura and Yukito meet at penguin park and Yuki takes her over to the aquarium. Following them are Tomoyo, of coarse with her camera, and Kero. Both of them watch Sakura and Yuki check out the fish, then they go into a little cafe that's near a fish tank. And who should show up to take their orders but none other than Touya! Seems he's the waiter at the cafe now, since the owners of the aquarium think that there's something wrong with the penguin tank. After Touya has taken their order, something strange happens, the water tank suddenly cracks open and water is spilling everywhere! Touya shouts for Sakura and Yukito, Sakura is under the water, trapped by a small whirlpool, we see a hand break open the emergency axe case and starts to chop at a door. In no time the water is flowing out the door and Sakura is set free! Touya goes over to is sister to see if she's alright and looks up to see Yuki with the axe standing rather calmly in the ankle deep water. Sakura opens her eyes and sees Kero and Tomoyo, she starts to ask what they are doing here when Yuki comes up to her, and apologies to Touya, he then gives Sakura an Idea on how to Capture the Water card. Later that night after having snuck past the guard, Sakura and Tomoyo and Kero get into position. Sakura ruins, with Kero behind her, toward a water tank, there she challenges the Water card. The Water card leaps out and races toward her, Sakura summons the Fly and flies down the stairs with the Water at her heels. she leads the Water to a room, then she summons the Windy. Sakura shuts the door to the room while Windy swirls around Water, soon it turns into ice! Sakura trapped the Water in the refrigerator! She then opens the door and seals it. Leave it to Kero He shows a bit of the end footage of the Watery card chasing Sakura. For the Kero-Chan Check it's of the battle costume, from the hat with the polka-dots at the tip to the pointy-toe shoes.

4. Sakura's Exhausting Sunday

Sakura wakes up in the morning and is very happy because it isn't raining and she was expecting to go to the park with Tomoyo. She is even kind when Touya gives her one of his remarks, because she's so happy. Touya and Fujitaka are surprised; and there's a flashback when she wanted to go to Rika's recital, so Touya offered to switch jobs but she had to do all the chores the next week. Sakura agreed, but now it was Sunday, and she couldn't go with Tomoyo. While cleaning up, Sakura found the Wood card. Later in the basement she found another card covered with ink. As she was going to get a towel, the phone rang. It was Fujitaka who said that his presentation was all in an envelope and was lying on the table! So Sakura had to hurry out and get her father the envelope, and bumped into Yukito and they went to a cafe where...Touya was working! Touya said Yukito ate three times as much as he did. Back at home, the inky card had not been wiped off, and started gleaming, revealing the Rain card, but since Sakura had not put her name on the cards, the cards started going into spirit form. Meanwhile Kero had just finished with the laundry, since Sakura had said while cleaning up she'd give Kero some ice cream as thanks for helping out but when Sakura had found the other card Wood while cleaning up he had accidentally fallen in the washing machine. Sakura and Kero encounter with the Wood card's spirit, and when the doorbell rings, Sakura accidentally yells that she's going, and Kero then has to act like a stupid regular plush toy. The worst bit is, the wood card has dragged them all the way from the basement door to the front door, so whoever opens the door will see them! The door opens and it's...Tomoyo, who is carrying a basket full of food and has a video camera and a battle costume since she was expecting Sakura to dance at the park. Sakura realizes that she forgot about the other card, and that she didn't put her name on either one of them. The other mysterious card turns out to be Rain, which made the usually gentle Wood card so wild! Sakura catches Rain with Watery, and Wood immediately turns back into a card. But the house is all messy all over again! They have to clean up and do the washing...ALL OVER AGAIN! Later in bed while Sakura and Kero are sleeping, Fujitaka and Touya arrive home to a perfectly, shiny clean home. Fujitaka says thank you to Sakura for cleaning the house and when she wakes up, they'll have some cake. Touya says that if she doesn't put her name on it, he'll eat it first. Sakura then says that she put her name on...the Clow cards, which are lying on the counter.

Luckily, Yukito catches Sakura, and brings her to his house. Then Touya picks up Sakura and on the way explains to Yukito why Sakura is so afraid of ghosts. There's a scene where Kero gives Sakura a flower because he doesn't want Sakura to get hurt like that and then Sakura wants to go again in case her mother wants to tell her something. They go and Sakura sees her mother again, except the force field is gone and Tomoyo can see the mother. The boy rejoins the trio and runs to the window to take a look at the painting. His hat flies off his head, and it turns out the boy is a girl! The trio look at the girl and they look at the painting, and they see the exact same girl that is in the painting. The girl finally goes on her way and thanks the trio, then she goes home. After faking to be cheery and well for the benefit for her dad, Touya and Sakura head off to school. Yukito notices that she is not well and so do Meling, Tomoyo and Li. After nearly falling asleep in Ms. Mizuki's class, she tells Tomoyo to take Sakura to the nurse's office. At the nurse's Sakura has a temperature of 309. Meling and Li both walk into the office and all four of them have a conversation. Outside Touya meets Ms. Mizuki and they too have a conversation. Finally he asks her why she has come back, and she replies that she has some business here and walks away. Touya picks up Sakura, takes her home and puts her to bed. Outside the clouds have started acting funny. Sakura sits up in bed saying she senses a Clow card. She is about to go outside to capture it when Kero stops her saying that Touya will be coming soon with her medicine. She summons the Mirror card to take her place until she gets back. Outside Sakura meets up with Li and Meiling. Inside the house "Sakura" has finished eating as little bit of food, Touya starts to walk away when "she" stops him asking about her medicine. That's when Touya says that he knows that she's not her sister. He tells her that he knows what's going on and tells her not to tell Sakura. The Clow card promises and Touya leaves her after rubbing her on the head. Outside Li is battling the card. Kero says that its the Cloud card. Sakura is about to seal it when she nearly falls, Meling catches her and with her help Sakura seals the card. It goes over to Li, but he hands it to her. Sakura gets back into the house and into bed and Kero talks to Li about moving in with him for a while. Touya comes into her room to check on her and finds out that her temperature has gone up! A woman materializes out of nowhere and talks to Touya. Its their mom! After placing her hand on Sakura's forehead, Sakura opens her eyes and recognizes her! Then she falls back to sleep. Mr. Kimonoto comes in after Mrs. Kimonoto disappears saying that he was worried about Sakura, but he is assured that she will be alright. The next day Sakura comes down for breakfast cheery and happy again and is surprised to see her dad home so early, he explains why and Sakura sits down to eat and breakfast continues with Touya teasing Sakura and Sakura yelling at him.

40. Sakura and the Sakura in the Dream

Sakura, Tomoyo, Li, Meling and Kero are at the mall to spend the day shopping and playing games. As they are doing so and as a song plays in the background a blue colored butterfly is following them. As Meling and Sakura are playing a game, the butterfly flies past Tomoyo. Suddenly Tomoyo is in a limbo, she looks around then she hears someone call her name, it's Sakura! The Sakuras are dancing and twirling and wearing each and every costume that Tomoyo has ever made. Happily Tomoyo goes from one set of Sakuras to another video taping it all. But she is rudely waken from her happy dream by Meling, who accidentally hits her on the head. They go and see a movie where Meling starts to daydream happily, when she sees the couple on the screen embrace. Li, feeling uncomfortable, leaves the theater and leans against a wall. We can see the butterfly floating next to him. Li opens the door to go back in the theater and stops. On the screen he sees himself with Sakura. He watches as Sakura gives him the Clow cards that she has captured. On the screen both of them embrace, Li is snapped out of it when he is waken by Sakura. Who opens the door not realizing that Li is in front of it and smacks him in the face.  While they are on the subway heading toward the Tokyo Tower Li and Sakura have a conversation. First about Ms. Mizuki and then about the dreams that Sakura has been having. She tells him that she dreamt about him and about Ms. Mizuki just before she met them. They arrive at the Tokyo Tower and Sakura is the first one in, she stops sensing something, then she goes on a head with the others. They reach the top and Sakura points out to Kero that the building across the Tokyo Tower is the same in her dream. Sakura freaks out because Kero is floating out in the open but he tells her not to worry because no one else is here. Sakura sighs with relief and continues to gaze out into the sky. Outside the scenery has changed, its dark and she see herself in a costume! The other Sakura appears in front of her and tells her that everything will be all right. We get a series of flashbacks, from the time that Sakura open the Clow book, when she first became a cardcaptor, to when she met Li and captured The Thunder, and others. She wakes up, to see Li standing above her. She gets up and notices that Li used the Time card and explains that she's stepping on a Clow card. He says that its The Dream Card, she takes her foot off the card and captures it, and its rewarded to Li! Later as they are having lunch, Kero explains what happened: After Sakura opened the door into the Tower she suddenly froze then dropped to the ground. Li, seeing the Clow card underneath her foot used the Time card to freeze everything and tried to wake Sakura up. Kero explains about the card's power and Meling congratulates Li on capturing the card by hugging him, Li falls off his chair.     In the beginning of the episode we hear from an announcement on the radio. The rain doesn't seem to be letting up, or stopping. The next scene provides us with a view of Sakura making breakfast, no doubt worrying about yesterday. Touya comes in and Sakura asks him if he could ask Yukito to come over. Touya says that he will if Sakura cooks something up for him, and Sakura agrees. Upstairs we see Kero sitting on Sakura's bed with the Sakura Book in front of him, he's trying to figure out the aura that he felt the other day. Sakura arrives at school, only to sit down and worry some more, she gives a start when a flower appears in front of her. She looks up and sees Eriol, he gives her the flower to cheer her up then walks away. Saroyan greets Sakura while glaring at Eriol, who in return smiles at him. Touya and Yukito see them as their on there way to class with an armload of papers. When Yukito points out Sakura and Saroyan to Touya, who in turn growls, then he turns to Yukito and is about to say something when Nakuru appears and jumps on Touya. She tells him that they're going to be late if the don't get a move on and Touya tells Yukito to give him the rest of the papers. Yuki does and off Touya goes to class, Yuki and Nakuru stare at each other for a few moments. Nakuru says something weird to him and dashes off. That night Yukito, Sakura and Touya are just finishing their food when Touya gets up to go to work, after he leaves Kero suddenly flies down to Yuki. At his command Yuki transforms into Yue. Sakura freaks out when she sees Yue behind her. Up in her room Sakura offers tea to Yue but then Kero explains to her that that Yue doesn't eat. As she goes off to get some more tea for Kero, he transforms, he and Yue start to talk. But of coarse before they could name the person who's behind the occurrences, Sakura comes in. And once again she freaks when she sees Kero in his true form. Sakura, Kero and Yue go to penguin park and are joined by Tomoyo who has her video camera with her. Sakura and Yue start a little conversion about how Yuki can't remember being Yue but Yue can remember being Yuki. Sakura gets nervous. The star key grows into the star wand! she jumps down after being freed from the water and gets out Fiery. She starts to use Fiery but it flutters to the ground, thinking that since the wand is different, the Clow cards have to be different as well. She holds it up and starts another new incantation. it works! Fiery zooms out and disengages the rest of the towers, leaving Tomoyo, Yue and Kero on the ground and gasping for breath. Eriol asks if he could move Sakura's brother's bike out of the front yard, Sakura agrees, but Eriol empowers the bike with magic. Before Eriol leaves, Sakura introduces him to her father. As he departs, Eriol tells Sakura "It's going to get tough tonight" Sakura, unsure of what those words mean, goes in for dinner. Later, She later tells Kero of her constant exhaustion, Kero explains that her use of the Sakura Cards has slowly drained her, albeit temporarily. Sakura opened the Sakura book, and the cards inside seem to replenish her a little. Sakura then noticed that the cards looked.. strange.. They were no longer warm to the touch , nor were they GENKI, Kero tells Sakura that, like her, the cards have also been drained, and must "sleep" to regain their power. A concerned Sakura decides to change the sleeping cards into Sakura Cards, but this reckless action only knocks her out for the count. When she recovers, the cards flying around her are able to cheer her up. Kero reprimands Sakura for her behaviour. Suddenly, one of the cards Sakura tried to alter, the Dash card, goes maverick, takes animal form, and jumps out of Sakura's bedroom window, it absorbs itself into the magically-empowered bike and speeds off. Sakura gives chase, but finds the cards she transformed into Sakura cards are very weak and they can't do much good. Sakura continues to act reckless and irresponsible regarding her own safety, especially when she starts calling Tomoyo on her mobile whilst skating. Eventually, Li comes to her aid, but both are still unable to capture the bike. Then Sakura has an idea. She pulls out the loop card , and turn sit into a Sakura Card, using the card, she is able to warp the street so that it wraps around itself. The bike attempts to escape, sensing magic is being used, but no matter how far it flees, it will always end up back where it started. Dash escapes it's host, but it's too weak to go any further, Sakura apologizes to the animal for what she did, and Dash forgives her. Sakura returns it to card form. Sakura comments that each time she turns a Card to a Sakura card, she becomes much more stronger, Kero-Chan is glad Sakura's confidence in her power is building. She then passes out again. Tomoyo, having finally responded to Sakura's phone calls, is upset that she didn't make it in time to see the action, or provide Sakura with a new battle costume. She tries to film Sakura sleeping, but Kero demands she film HIM instead...

She uses the shield card to protect Saroyan and Tomoyo and uses the jump card to get closer to Eriol, but the sorcerer summons a fire spell to drive her back, Sakura falls backwards, Saroyan uses wind magic to catch her, but in doing so, drains himself of all his remaining strength. After further battle, and more card changing, Sakura realizes that only the power of light can shatter the grim hold of dark. She decides to use the light card, but it can only be changed at the same time as the dark card, and to do that would require a great deal of power, which Sakura just doesn't have in her! Kero and Yue combine their powers and channel the fused magic into Sakura's staff. But the power the staff receives is almost too much for Sakura to handle alone. She is about to give up, suddenly Saroyan, barley awake, helps her hold up her staff, working as one, all four are finally able to turn the dark and light cards, and shatter the spell of darkness. Seeming satisfied with this outcome, Eriol tells an exhausted Sakura that he's glad the ordeal is over and departs. Before Sakura can give chase however, a badly weakened Saroyan falls in front of her. As Sakura tends to him, Saroyan finally confesses to Sakura that he's in love with her. TO BE CONTINUED…
