FLCL Guide

Episode 1: Fooly Cooly

Haruko wants Atomsk. She wants his power, she wants to be merged with him. The Medical Mechanica has imprisoned Atomsk. Haruko was sent to earth to open an N-O Channel because Atomsk was about to escape. Haruko found Naota, who is capable of sustaining such a field, and attempts to smack him with her bass guitar. She screws up, and crashes into him, revives him, and then hits him. But nothing comes out.  Physical trauma to the head, is apparently necessary in opening an N-O Channel.
Later, Naota begins growing a horn. The horn is actually the finger of a robot Canti. Naota goes to visit a doctor about his horn. The nurse is actually Haruko, who attempts to smack Naota again, hoping to get the field open. Naota runs away. He runs home, only to find that Haruko ran over Naota's dad, Kamon, and is now their live in house maid.
Haruko sleeps in Naota's room. In Naota's bed. This pisses Naota off, so he goes downstairs, where he talks to his dad. His dad starts questioning him about Mamimi, Naota runs out to see Mamimi who is on a bridge somewhere around town. There, they talk. Naota brings up that his brother. Mamimi overflows, and Naota gets stressed.....
Back at Naota's house, Haruko's bracelet starts to react, Haruko races to the source of this, which is the bridge. The horn on Naota's head grows, and eventually Canti emerges. But Canti is not alone, he is being grabbed by some other robot. Canti gets out of Naota's head, and only the hand of the other robot gets out. Canti and the other robot fight. Canti destroys the other robot. Haruko appears, and smacks Canti in the back of the head. Canti's red color fades, and he becomes tame.
The red Canti represents Atomsk. I believe that Atomsk was using Canti to escape, and the other MM Robot was sent to  capture Canti with Atomsk in it, since Atomsk was a threat. When Haruko smacked Canti, the red color faded from Canti, and I believe it went INTO Naota. Part of Atomsk's essence is in Naota and the other part is still in Canti. This explains why in other episodes, Canti only turns red when he absorbs Naota.

Episode 2: Fire Starter

Starts out with Mamimi playing some handheld videogame about burning stuff to please a dark god Cantide. Mamimi is obsessed with this game, which is probably related to her past, when she burned down her elementary school, which was also when she met Naota's brother, who saved her. Mamimi rescues a small cat that she calls Ta-Kun.
Canti is now living with Naota, and Kamon is using him to run errands, do work, and all sorts of crap. Haruko, the maid, barely does any maid-like work. During Canti's free time he wanders to the site of the burnt school yard, and is collecting small pieces of the back of his head. Mamimi sees him, and mistakes him for the angel, Cantide. Hence, she names him Canti.
Haruko uses Canti to take x-rays of Naota's head. She reveals that his head is empty, and all that is left is a black hole type thing. Haruko also reveals herself to be a part of some space organization. A new horn is growing in Naota.
Haruko gets on her vespa and drives towards the MM Plant in town. She crashes into it, and is detained by two guards. She makes the comment that the MM plant is not a place where people work, as there are no doors or windows. Naota comes to Haruko, gives her a spare part for her vespa, and they drive home.
Fires have been popping up all over the city, officials suspect it to be arson. blah blah blah, Naota and some of his school friends go and visit the site of one of the fires, some boat house. One of the guys talks about how some people say it is UFOs, and how some magazine got a picture of a flying object. Naota sees Mamimi in the river, she had been bullied by some other kids. Naota leaves his friends and goes to Mamimi. While walking behind her, Mamimi drops the handheld video game, and lights a cigarette. It then clicks in Naota's head that Mamimi is causing the fires, trying to be like the character in the game, trying to win Cantide's affection. Naota looks up, and Mamimi is gone.
Naota goes to the burnt down school yard and seeing Mamimi sitting in a circle of cigarettes with the Atomsk symbol drawn on the ground. She is "summoning" Canti/Cantide. Canti happened to be around, and Ta-Kun (the cat) notices him. Mamimi approaches Canti and attempts to kiss him. Naota spazzes, the horn grows, and out emerges the rest of the robot from Episode 1. It begins kicking the crap out of Canti. Mamimi realizes that Canti is not a god, he is not Cantide, he is weak, and retarded.
The robots fight, and Mamimi is thrown into danger. Naota rushes to save her, and he does, kinda. Canti is laying on top of him, and the other robot is moving in for a big kill. Naota calls out for his brother, and something clicks in Canti. On his screen the sign of Atomsk shows up, and he counters the enemy robot's attack. Then he absorbs Naota. Then he turns red. Then he proceeds to kick the crap out of the other robot, transforming into a gun thing. Haruko comes in to make the finishing move.
Canti expels Naota, and Naota decides that he will stay by Mamimi for as long as it takes, that he will protect her. They leave.
Basically in this episode we find out more about Mamimi. We find out that she is a loner, gets pushed around by her peers, is kinda delusional, and blurs reality. Canti only reaches his prior full potential when he merges with Atomsk, though some of his strength returns when the Atomsk symbol appears on his TV. I think that this is supposed to show how the power of Atomsk is kinda split between Naota and Canti. When Naota became scared, and called out for his brother, the two aspects of Atomsk probably reacted to each other, and that is what caused the Atomsk symbol to appear on Canti's screen, which saved them from the attack.

Episode 3: Marquisde Carabas

Episode 3 starts with Ninamori in a car with her father's secretary. Ninamori's father is in some legal trouble, and her mother is planning on divorcing him. Ninamori's father is also sleeping with the secretary. Ninamori says she doesn't care one way or the other. This continues the theme in FLCL of adults acting childish, and kids acting adultish. We'll see more of this when Amarao arrives in the next episode.
Anyways, with the trouble at Ninamori's home, she has been having a hard/difficult time. At school she is the lead of some play, and Naota is the other main character, a cat named Puss-in-Boots, which is convenient since Naota's new horn looks like a pair of cat ears. Naota doesn't want to be in the play, he was cast based upon majority vote, but he thinks the play is childish and stupid. So he ditches the practices. Ninamori scolds him and tells him he has to come, that it is important. During class, Naota's friends show Naota a magazine that they bought. At first i thought it was some kind of porn magazine, but I am pretty sure it is a trashy tabloid-esque magazine which was putting down Ninamori's family. Naota's teacher catches them and talks about how this is inappropriate actions for a class where NInamori is in. Class ends, Naota ditches the afternoon rehearsal. Then he goes home.
At home, we see Canti gluing together pieces of the back of his head, Haruko catches him, and embarrasses him. Haruko then talks with Naota and promises to meet him to go get some curry for dinner.
Ninamori goes to Naota's dad's shop to find out more about the magazine. He gets a magazine and a drink, and goes to the train station to sit and be alone since she doesn't want to deal with the crap at home. Naota shows up by coincidence, and they talk. Ninamori suggests that she and Naota run away, but Naota says he only came here cause he was meeting someone. Haruko shows up, and in true Haruko style, sideswipes Ninamori by accident. NInamori is flung into Naota, and Naota is knocked unconscious. His hat falls off. His cat ears are revealed. Haruko warns Ninamori not to touch the ears, but she does anyways, and starts to feel sick. Ninamori now is capable of opening a IO-Field.
All three of them go home. And Ninamori is treated to curry that Haruko made. Ninamori hordes all of the mild stuff, leaving everyone to practically die on the hot stuff. Kamon finds out that Haruko sideswiped Ninamori and he freaks out, afraid that he will get in trouble for hurting the mayor's daughter so he insists that she stays the night. Naota objects. Kamon overrules. Ninamori questions about Canti, but she gets gibberish answers from Kamon.
After dinner we see Ninamori bathing. Kamon talks to her through the window. Ninamori thanks Kamon for getting rid of her dad's secretary, I assume it was Kamon's tabloidish-zine that spilt the beans about the secretary, which made the secretary split the scene.
Ninamori goes to Naota's room. She is wearing Naota's pajamas. Naota is kinda pissed, and tells her she should go home, how it isn't right. Ninamori says they just wont mention this night to anyone, so whatever happens, happens. Naota learns that Ninamori actually wears glasses, but during the school hours she wears contacts to hide it. Perhaps because glasses make her look childish. Then Ninamori reveals that she rigged the votes to make her the star of the play, and Naota the lead. Haruko overhears this, and talks about how sweet it is for Ninamori to be honest and crap. Basically, Haruko now forces Naota to go to the play practices.
Next day at school Haruko comes with Canti to give Naota bento curry for a snack/lunch before the afternoon rehearsal. Naota says he isn't staying, dressing like a cat is lame, and other stuff. Haruko forces the curry into his backpack, and then Ninamori grabs Naota when he tries to leave. She says he has to stay, because this play is important, because both her mother and father will be there to see her. Together. Naota calls Ninamori selfish, and talks about how stupid the play is, and how he would die if he had to go on stage looking like a cat. This pisses Ninamori off, and she rips the hat off of Naota's head, revealing his cat ears. Class=Stunned.
Naota, not to be outdone, then proclaims to the class how Ninamori rigged the votes. This gets Ninamori incredibly/stressed and bam, the Medical Mechanica Plant moves and and starts to send a new robot through the IO-Field, While Naota was originally the target field to go through, Ninamori's upset condition became more viable and so Naota's ears disappear and then reappear on Ninamori's head. Then the rest of the robot pops out. Kinda. It is still partly in Ninamori's head, she apparently isn't as good of a IO-Field conductor as Naota was. The robot attacks Naota at first. Did it attack Naota because Ninamori was mad at him? Nah, I don't think so, I think it felt Atomsk inside him, and since MM wants to destroy or capture Atomsk it instinctively went to Naota...but Canti was also still in the classroom, so after the initial attack on Naota, it realizes that Canti is there, and moves in to attack him. Haruko starts issuing commands to Canti, how to fight and stuff. Canti does an ok job of dodging and putting Ninamori's panties back on, but not really effective in offense. Haruko attacks using a ukulele, but it sucks.
Haruko then calls for her vespa and her bass guitar. She and Canti run from the class room, and up to the roof of the school. The robot follow. By the time the robot gets to the roof, Haruko has her bass guitar and attacks the robot. The robot uses Ninamori to defend. Naota is flung off the side of the building, and destroys Miyaji's car. Canti then jumps down and absorbs Naota. I forget exactly, but I think when Naota was flung off the building his backpack ripped open and his bento curry came out. The bento curry fell in the mouth of the robot, and it causes the robot to have a little bit of gas....Ninamori is completely expelled from the robot, and then Canti converts to gun mode and fires, destroying the robot.
Then we see the opening of the play. We learn that Ninamori's family didn't get divorced, and her dad did not go to court. We also see Ninamori standing on the stage wearing glasses , perhaps a sign that she has come to terms with who she is, and unlike Naota realizes that she is a kid, and should act like one. With the pressure at home gone, and with her peace of mind from finally coming to terms with "being herself", it is assumed that the IO-Field is incapable of being generated within Ninamori. In later episodes she never grows horns. Now, if only Naota could realize this....

Episode 4: Full Swing

Episode 4 begins with Haruko playing baseball. She is playing on the neighboring towns team against Naota's hometown's team. Haruko is nailing balls out of the park left and right. Naota is on the other team, and they lose pretty pathetically.
Shigekuni (Naota's grandfather) talks about how pathetic his team, The Martians, are. And how they used to have great batters, but since the MM factory was build, and Naota's brother left...the team has sucked. They don't know if Naota is any good at baseball since he has never swung the bat in a game...he is afraid that he will not be able to match his brother's ability...so afraid he doesn't even try.
Anyways, Shigekuni and the rest of the team eventually realize that Canti is picking up the baseballs scattered throughout the field and is flawlessly tossing them into a bucket. Shigekuni then puts Canti in the outfield and hits him some balls. Everyone is caught. One could assume that this is to show  that Canti is regaining his prior abilities from Episode 1...however, I don't think so. I think it is just supposed to show that Canti can still technically do stuff, he just lacks the initiative. He can follow orders well, but when told to act independently, he falters....He may be the strength and body aspect of Atomsk, but Naota has the mind part. Only when Canti absorbs Naota  can Canti's true power be unleashed. Yadda, yadda, yadda.
Anyways, Canti becomes the newest member of the Martians, and Naota walks off to go home. He sees Haruko, and Haruko tells him he should at least try and swing the bat. Haruko leaves. Naota walks home.
When Naota gets home, Haruko and Kamon are...fooling around...This upsets Naota, as he remembers the first night with Haruko and how she said she was with Naota cause she met him first. Well....This Kamon is not the real Kamon. He is a robotic copy built by Haruko. Haruko wanted to try and use Kamon's head, much like she used Naota's...to open up a N-O Field. Well, it doesn't work so well. Kamon is incapable of producing the field, and so Haruko has this robotic copy of him running around. It also gets Naota jealous, which probably effects the performance of his own N-O field. Kamon would have been better, since he would have done whatever Haruko asked just to try and get in bed with her....Naota is a little stubborn.
Yeah, so Naota gets pissed about Haruko and Robo-Kamon making out, and he goes outside. He smacks the side of a vending machine with his baseball bat when Amarao shows up. They chat. Amarao buys something from Naota's family shop. Amarao warns Naota that Haruko is dangerous, and not to be trusts. Amarao talks about spicy food, and how both he and Naota dislike the spicy food. He says that if you just grin and bear it, eventually you'll like the spicy stuff. Though, he himself admits to not even bothering. Spicy food=metaphor for growing up. Naota and Amarao both act like they are grownup, but they aren't. Well, technically Amarao is, but he doesn't really act like it...he acts like a kid acting like an adult. A kid in an adults body trying to be an adult. Wahoo. If Naota just accepted himself, lightened up a bit, he wouldn't have so many problems, he would be able to "enjoy the spicy food" so to speak.
Ok...Haruko offers to help teach Naota how to bat. She gives him some lessons later the night. Meanwhile, we see Amarao in his work station...he is the commander of the Interstellar Immigration. Kitsurubami, his female second in command, is giving the details of some mission status. Apparently a satellite of their control has been damaged and is now no longer under their control. This satellite has a bomb on it, and was apparently their ace-in-the-sleeve for some action between the Medical Mechanica and the local government. Well...someone damaged the satellite. Who? None other than Haruko. Remember at the beginning when she was playing baseball and smacking those balls out of the park? Yeah, she was hitting the satellite with those balls.
Back at Naota's home. It is night. Naota looks up at the top bunk and realizes that Haruko is gone. He notices a light in Kamon's room... he looks in.., and sees Kamon and Haruko having sex. Naota freaks, and his new "horn" is shown. Its not really a horn, but a red blinking light...a signal for the falling Satellite.
Next morning, Naota is hanging out with Mamimi. Haruko drives by and tells Naota to get ready for the game. Naota says he doesn't want to play some lame game. Haruko mentions that it will be Canti's first game, which, of course, gets Mamimi excited. Mamimi and Haruko leave. Naota goes home...and sees his dad. He gets upset as his dad starts talking about Naota as if Naota isn't there, then starts rambling about Haruko and how she has made him so much better, ramble on. Naota gets mad, smashes the TV. When he hits the TV, the cord that is connected to robot-Kamon gets pulled, and he falls down and gets busted up.
Amarao shows up and interrogates Naota at his home. He explains how the N-O field works, by using the difference between the left and right hemisphere of the brain, items are able to be transmitted instantly through millions of miles. He also tells Naota about Atomsk, and how Haruko is after Atomsk. He says that Haruko doesn't care about Mabase, she doesn't care about Earth, she doesn't care about Naota, all she cares about is getting Atomsk. He tells him about the satellite, and how it will crash into Mabase and even if everyone evacuated, there would still be tons of casualties. He asks Naota to tell Haruko to hit it out of the "park" for a local fan. Amarao knows it was Haruko who damaged the satellite. He knows that she doesn't care. But he is hoping to use Naota to get Haruko to save the town, cause the last thing he needs on his resume is the destruction of a town...plus his organization is supposed to be semi-secret, and blowing up a town isn't the best way to stay in the shadows.
Evacuation notices are going up all over Mabase. Naota is exploring his house and find the corpse of Kamon shoved in some closet like area. He spazzes, and takes the corpse to the bathroom. He pours water on it, and Kamon comes back to life. Kamon explains how Haruko wanted to use his head, and he gleefully agreed. Though, he was not able to make a N-O field and the result Kamon "died". Haruko smashes onto the scene. Naota explains, and Haruko says that double-headers are rough. She takes Naota to the top of the MM factory, and uses the N-O field of Naota to pull out a guitar. She gives it to Naota and tells him to swing at the satellite. Haruko leaves.
Mamimi is with Canti, and she is summoning Nostradamus to destroy Mabase so she wont have to go to school tomorrow. Hah. Naota is alone, and is spazzing as the satellite is getting closer. Just before contact, Naota calls out for his brother again, and again the Atomsk symbol pops up on Naota's forehead. On Canti's screen the same thing pops up, but Canti is too far to help. Naota makes contact, but he isn't strong enough to push the satellite back. Haruko pops in and smacks the satellite out of Earth's orbit. Why? Well, it isn't shown, but her bracelet probably reacted to Atomsk's power emerging in Canti/Naota, like in episode 1. She then went to Naota with hopes of getting Atomsk. She didn't see Atomsk, but she knew something was up, so she smacked the satellite out to try and figure out what the hell is up with Atomsk.
In this episode you are first introduced with what the hell Haruko is doing, what the hell is going on in Naota's head, and we get introduced to Amarao and Kitsurubami, two important characters for the last two episodes. We also see the relation between Atomsk's power returning to Naota and Naota calling out his brother's name. No, Naota's brother is not Atomsk. He isn't resurrected as Canti. He is just a guy in America playing baseball. Naota envies him, and envies his strength. Calling out for him just awakens the power of Atomsk inside of him, if Naota envied his father, and say his father as everything he wanted to be, then he would have yelled "Kamon!" just as the satellite was about to make contact, and the same result would have occurred. Oh yeah, Amarao's eyebrows. They aren't... normal. They aren't even real eyebrows at all, they apparently block the N-O field from forming within Amarao. We see this in Episode 5 , they also make Amarao appear to be older...along with his haircut, and hair color. Notice the theme of looking like a grown up? There ya go.....

Episode 5: Bra-Bullet

Episode 5 begins with Naota and Haruko in an air gun battle against Kamon and Canti. Kamon challenged Naota to a battle over Haruko because after being turned down by Haruko he saw Naota kissing Haruko. Not one to have his pride smashed up by a little boy... so he challenges him to a fight. I am not sure how the rules of this game work out, but I would guess its like paintball...only Naota and Canti seem to shoot each other a little too much, but hey its anime.
While Naota and Kamon are having their little fight, Kitsurubami parks her car up on the bridge overlooking the fight. She pops out of the sun roof with a huge ass gun. She is planning on shooting Canti. She is also talking on the phone with Amarao who is issuing the order. She questions the use of force, and whether they are really supposed to destroy Canti. Amarao says they'll get clearance from the MM after the fact. Here the relationship between Amarao's organization and the MM becomes clear. Amarao's organization is like an intermediately, between the MM and the earth government. MM wants Canti back. Amarao is "supposed" to get Canti back....but as we see in Episode 6, Amarao isn't really that loyal to his contract with the MM. He knows what the MM really are, and he knows what Canti really is. He also doesn't want MM to get Canti, so he is going to destroy Canti and just tell MM "whoops". Basically.
Anyways, Kitsurubami fires at Canti, and Haruko jumps in the way and slaps the bullet back towards Kitsurubami, destroying her car. I don't get the blue, blue, blue, cobalt blue, fish thing. It must be some Japanese language pun. Kitsurubami ends up in the river after the explosion, and Kamon somehow gets out of the game. Haruko leaves. So its up to Naota and Canti. They are fighting when Naota's school friends show up in a truck. Gaku drives it around making deliveries. This surprises Naota. Naota also becomes incredibly embarrassed that they saw him "playing around", though his friends don't seem to mind. He tells Canti to go get some drinks. Canti flies off. Naota and Ninamori, Gaku and the other guy talk. They say that their are rumors about Naota saving the town. Naota's horn clicks. They notice that Mamimi was up on the bridge watching them.
Meanwhile, we see Amarao getting his hair done. A lady pushes him back to wash his hair, note how concerned he is with the style/color/eyebrows of his hair. He thinks they make him manly and masculine and adult. Anyways, the girl who dumps his head underwater to wash it turns out to be Haruko. Amarao freaks, and pulls out his gun. Haruko and Amarao have a stand off. Then Amarao calls in his buddies. "I am not a kid anymore, you know. I am old enough to take out insurance policies." Awesome fight scene takes place. Haruko kicks the crap out of Amarao's men.
Canti returns to the river, he comes near Kitsurubami. Kitsurubami freaks out, cause she thinks Canti is dangerous. Canti offers his hand to help her get up. Kitsurubami falls in love.
Naota goes to see Mamimi. He talks to her, and she seems kinda out of it. Naota, being cocky and full of himself from saving the town in episode 4, wants to tell Mamimi that he likes her...but Mamimi kinda reveals that she doesn't really like Naota. Ahh, poor Naota. Well, that does it, and his horn erupts. Out comes with huge robot. Naota and Mamimi end up on the robots head, and Mamimi keeps chanting for Naota's brother to save her. This pisses Naota off, because HE is the one who promised to protect her. Naota calls for Canti. Canti appears. Naota willingly merges with Canti.
Back to Haruko and Amarao...they are fighting. They end up outside. Some settles, and they both notice the new MM robot. Amarao is missing his eyebrows. Haruko uses him to open a N-O Channel to pull out a weapon to fight the new robot. She gets a dinky little guitar. She makes the comment about how Naota is more manly than Amarao ever will be. You could take that a few ways, as I am sure you did. Haruko changes and surfs towards the robot. Canti and Haruko fight the robot. Canti shoots the robot, blah blah blah, they win. Notice that the bullet that Canti shot ended up being Naota. Naota doesn't really control Canti. Remember in Episode 1 or 2 he says he couldn't remember what happened after Canti swallowed him? Yeah, he doesn't really control Canti. He is just sorta necessary to get Canti to function correctly. Haruko gets all googly eyed when looking at Canti afterwards. Probably sense Atomsk power in him and stuff. Atomsk seems to be quite he ladies man... uhh bird.

Episode 6: Furi Kura

Episode Six starts with Naota in school and his teacher is trying to teach everyone how to use chopsticks. She sucks at using chopsticks. Naota and his friends are talking about split front peas or mushrooms or something. Naota leaves the class. He talks about how ever since the events of Episode 5 smoke has been flowing from the MM plant nonstop, and how Mabase seems to be isolated from the rest of the world. This could also be used to describe Naota who after being "shot down" by both Haruko and Mamimi in Episode 5, is feeling depressed and isolated from the rest of his family, friends, ect.
Naota comes home, and then reveals that Canti and Haruko have left, without saying so much as to why. Apparently, they are also listed as being fugitives. They don't ever say why Haruko left, I assume it is because she mistakenly thought that Canti was Atomsk, but didn't realize that part of Atomsk was also in Naota. Her return to Mabase signifies that she realizes that Naota was instrumental in releasing the Atomsk power with in Canti.
At Amarao's base, he and Kitsurubami are going over the status of the MM plant, Haruko, and stuff. Amarao says that the hand wants to grab the MM plant iron, and that Haruko is acting stupidly. MM is apparently going to use the plant/Iron to do raze the earth, flatten it for some unknown purpose. According to Amarao, Haruko/Rahal is not acting in the best interests of the Earth...They mention that the terminal core is needed to get the hand to start moving again. They decide it is necessary to capture the T.C.
Mamimi is under the bridge, and calling for Ta-Kun. She cant seem to find him. Then, suddenly, a little robot dog thing pops up. She feeds him her cell phone. She names it Ta-Kun. This is the terminal core. A guy on a bike splashed Mamimi and doesn't stop to apologize. Mamimi jots the guys licence plate down in a book.
Naota and his friends are walking. They see Mamimi looking for Ta-Kun in the water. They say something like "Hey, Naota, isn't that your girlfriend?" Naota leaves without saying anything. He is walking off on his own when Amarao finds him. Amarao makes up some whacked up explanation for why Naota shouldn't drink the sour stuff. He slaps on a pair of huge eyebrows on Naota as well. He also tells him not to trust Haruko.
Naota goes home. He sits on his bed with his Guitar from episode 4. Remembering Haruko. Kamon calls Naota for dinner, Naota approached the kitchen area much like he does in episode 1....and then we switch to Manga mode again. Haruko is back. The eyebrows fall of Naota. Haruko claims she just went on a vacation to Hawaii. Naota says no idiot would go on a leisurely vacation while being a wanted criminal. Haruko dances around. Kamon gets naked. Kamon gets obsessed with furing and kuring again. Manga scene ends. Haruko smashed Naota a couple of times with her guitar, and then his new "horn" appears. We also get a shot of the MM plant warming up.
Naota and Haruko are in Naota's room. Naota asks why she left, and why she came back. She says that she just needs Naota's head. Naota makes her promise not to leave him again without saying anything.
Mamimi begins feeding Ta-Kun more and more stuff. Cell phones she stole from high schoolers that bullied her, and later bikes and cars of people who splashed her. She is getting her revenge.
Haruko and Naota run away together. Naota has been missing from school for several days. Ninamori says he just needs to open up and speak what's in his heart, like she did to her parents. It solved her problems, it should solve Naota's.
Kitsurubami and Amarao find some of the wreckage from the battle in episode 5. But they cant find the terminal core. Amarao says that the same thing almost happened to his planet as well.
Haruko and Naota are eating Ramón noodles off somewhere in town. Naota asks if it is Haruko's job to fight the Medical Mechcanica. Haruko grins, and says that they took something she really wants. And now she is trying to get it back. This kinda further shows that what Amarao said of Haruko was true: She isn't fighting the MM to protect the earth....she is oding it for selfish reasons.
During the night, Mamimi is taking Ta-Kun for a walk. She is going to be feeding him all sorts of bikes and vespas and stuff.
In the morning, Ninamori finds Haruko and Naota sleeping on a park bench. She doesn't seem to care. She sees them, and leaves. Mamimi lost track of time, and is now trying to get Ta-Kun back to the river to hide....Well, Ta-Kun got a lot bigger, and kinda goes on a rampage eating all sorts of crap. He eats Gaku's truck from episode 5.
Cut to Naota's home. Naota's teacher, Miyajun, is visiting with Kamon to find out why Naota is gone. Kamon rambles on about hamsters, typical Kamon. The terminal core comes by and eats Miyajun's new car, Amarao and Kitsurubami spot it and start following it. They find Canti, who is a crossing guard. Canti and the terminal core merge.
Haruko wakes up and gets Naota and her on her Vespa. They start chasing after the T.C. as well. The T.C. is going towards the giant hand. It is trying to fill in the hole in the hand, but cant. As Amarao says, "something is missing from it synching properly.". Haruko and Naota appear over Amarao's head...Amarao realizes what's going to happen. He shoots at them, and they fall down.
Amarao scolds Naota, telling him he should be wearing the eyebrows, and that Haruko is dangerous. He says that Haruko will destroy the world for what she wants. Naota ignores him and goes to Haruko. Haruko hits Naota into the Terminal Core which then merges with the hand. Here we find out what the MM is really about, and where Atomsk fits in. The MM go around destroying/flattening planets for some unknown reason. They captured Atomsk and have been using his power to help do this. With the Terminal Core and Atomsk now within the hand, it has the power to activate the plant, under MM control, and raze earth. Haruko says she doesn't care about the earth. Apparently, Haruko decided that when the break-out failed in Episode 1, and after repeat attempts to get Atomsk out failed, that getting the MM to activate the plant to draw out Atomsk that way.
The hand activates and is about to grab the iron/MM plant when something stops it from completely grabbing it. Canti. The MM seems to have underestimated Atomsks and Naota's willpower, as he somehow escaped the inners of the hand. Naota then pulls himself from Canti's "head", and he is glowing red. Notice, after he leaves Canti, Canti is no longer read. Canti's portion of the Atomsk power is gone. His bandage comes off revealing the mark of Atomsk (his latest horn). He has absorbed the complete power of Atomsk, that which Haruko desires. He destroys the hand, and is holding two guitars. Naota's guitar from episode 4, and Canti's guitar from episode 5. Haruko's bracelet goes wild. Haruko is angry because Naota has claimed the power she wanted. They fight. Haruko goes into full offensive, and Naota defends. Practically effortlessly.
Amarao decides that this is the perfect opportunity to get rid of everyone. He probably figures that if Naota destroys/kills Haruko then they could hopefully contain Naota ...but things don't turn out that way.
Haruko makes a large swing at Naota, and Naota stops it with his hand, then tosses her guitar away. Haruko falls to the ground. Naota's two guitars kinda merge. Naota charges Haruko, Amarao says to show her no mercy. Naota stops just before Haruko and speaks what is in his heart... just as Ninamori said he should...well, that goes ahead and does it, and Atomsk emerges from within Naota. Atomsk pops out and reveals himself in all of his glory. His presence draws the matter of everything  around him to him, like a black hole. Atomsk sits therefore a while, and then sorta implodes on himself and flies away. Haruko watches her bracelet as it slowly stops tingling.
Haruko bids Naota farewell, as she has to go search for Atomsk again. She takes the merged guitars with her. Naota is left behind. He finds Haruko's guitar in the wreckage and keeps it for his own. He talks about how Mamimi left and become some famous photographer, and he is now in middle school. He seems to have accepted who he is, and is ready to actually start the process of growing up.
