Born as a forbidden child to a high priestess, Shizuma has two curses place on him. The first curse was placed on him and his mother, Rai, when one of the monks stole Pele's light core and gave it to Rai. The oracle got angry and cursed the priestess so when her son was born, her son would fall into darkness and be a killer. Out of fear, Rai threw her son into the dark mori. She later committed suicide.
A neko oni found baby Shizuma and took him in. She turned him into an oni out of love so he could live for eternity. But later, the curse took affect and Shizuma killed the neko oni.
Years later, Shizuma's 2nd curse came to him. The oracle came to him in the form of a beautiful woman along side the road. Shizuma tried to kill her. As punishment, the oracle made him a blood drinker. So for four centuries, Shizuma wandered the earth in search of blood.
Shizuma met Yukito when Yuki was being bullied around. The oni came out and fought the boys off. But afterwards, Shizuma fell weak. Yukito came to help him and the oni ended up feasting on his blood. And now, Shizuma loves Yuki and has decided to stay by his side.
