Nightmare
Attack
(Nightmare
Begins):
Sumi was running in the woods. It seemed like she had been running for
hours. Then without warning, Sumi tripped and fell over a small pulled
root of a tree. Sumi tried to get up frantically. An eerie laugh echoed
through the dark tall trees. Sumi froze in terror. Then she slowly
turned
around.
A tall black figure holding a sickle was coming closer. Sumi was scared
frozen. Her heart was racing. She was still catching her breath. “You
might
as well give up! I’ll get you in the end.” the creature hissed. “Please
go away! Why are you chasing?!? I haven’t done anything to you!” Sumi
cried.
But the monster didn’t answer. Instead, it charged at her. Sumi tried
to
get up but she slipped off of the tree trunk and fell back down. The
creature
raised up its sickle. Sumi just shut her eyes and crouched herself up.
She could feel the blade getting closer.
(Nightmare
Ends):
Sumi awoke panting in a cold sweat. She had had this nightmare for two
weeks now. It seemed to get worse every night. As soon as she thought
about
it, Sumi’s eyes filled with tears. Then she got up and walked to the
car
park.
Sumi
sobbed hard as she knocked on the Winnebago door. The door opened
wildly.
“What the fuck do you want?!?” Murdoc yelled. He looked down to see a
sobbing
Sumi. “What are you crying for?” Murds asked. Sumi didn’t answer.
Murdoc
just snorted. He was about to shut the door when Sumi wailed: “Please
let
me stay in room tonight.” “Huh?” the bassist asked. “I keep having
nightmares
and I’m too scared to sleep. Please let me stay.” the girl pleaded.
Murdoc’s
first thought was to shut the door but there was something about her
that
he couldn’t refuse her. So he let her stay.
Sumi’s nightmare saga kept going on for weeks. This was a problem.
Murdoc
was getting annoyed and Joey was worried. So one day, the two boys
unintentionally
met up. “She’s being a pain in the ass!” Murdoc said aloud. Joey looked
up. “Sumi’s driving me nuts!” said he. Murdoc was shocked. This was the
first time he heard Joey talk bad about Sumi. This could mean one
thing.
“This is serious right?” Murds asked. “What do you think?!?” Joe asked.
This was serious problem. And there was only one way to fix it. Murdoc
and Joey agreed to try and get Sumi to sleep.
For eight weeks, Joe and Murds tried to get the physic girl to sleep.
They
tried tapes, stories, and music. Nothing worked. Finally, although
Murdoc
didn’t want admit, the time had come to seek help. And there was one
person
available.
So one afternoon, Murdoc called Aphrodite’s Workshop. “Hello?” a young
girl answered. “Iris, where’s cupid?!?” Murds hissed. “Hold on.” Iris
replied.
There was a long pause. Murdoc waited impatiently. “Hello, Aphrodite’s
Workshop. Been in business for forty-seven years. How may I help you
today?”
Noizchild said when she was on the phone. “You didn’t have to say all
that
cupid!” Murds snapped. “What do you want Murdoc?” Noiz asked. “Just
help.”
he hissed. “What do you need me for?” the matchmaker asked. Murds never
called Noizchild for help. In fact, he always insulted her about her
business.
So what could he be calling her about?
“It’s about Sumi.” Murdoc admitted. “Sumi?” Noiz asked a little
stunned.
“What about her?” Murdoc explained the whole story. “Oh. Poor child.”
Noiz
said at last. “So help!” Murds yelled. “Just bring her by.” Noizchild
said.
Murds didn’t like her answer.
Later that night, Murdoc brought Sumi over and left. The physic girl
fell
the matchmaker about nightmares. The more she talked, the more Sumi
felt
better. And soon for the first time in many, Sumi had sweet dreams.
