Big Mack McGwire

When he walked out on the field
you would hear all the fan's cheer.
They came from all around the world
when they knew Big Mac was here.

Everyone called this man Big Mac
Mark McGwire was his real name.
Playing with the St. Louis Cardinals
Where he received most of his fame.

Never bragged on how good he was
Said I'll always do the best I can.
Told us there was no Guarantee's
And he was just that kind of man.

He was a great First baseman
gave the other teams quite a fit.
When he stepped up to the plate
my gosh could this man hit.

Came up to bat again in the fourth
and we heard that big bat crack.
Folk's up out of there seats to cheer
the leftfielder was running back.

Ball went over the leftfield fence
all the fans jumped from there seat.
And this would be Big Mack's day
for a record he had just beat.

That was a special day for all
guess I'll never forget that game.
My Son, Nephews and I on that day
Watch Mac enter the Hall of Fame.

That big day he hit his
62nd Hr.the 4th.inning 341 ft.
Sept. 8, 1998 against Chicaco Cubs
That Year Mark McGwire
Hit 70 Home Runs.
