Casting
Lots
Roman
soldiers knelt at the foot of the cross
For the vesture of Jesus they cast their lots
It was a gamble for a coat but the wager
was life
And they lost it all that day by
overlooking Christ
He was only a reach away from them, he
held out his hands
He would have welcomed them gladly It was
all in the plan
But blindly they gambled as his
blood dripped by their sides
They paid no attention as as for
them he died
Jesus must have looked down upon them and
shed his last tear
To see them so far away when his grace was
so near
Busy they were, with the things of this
world
As his tear fell beside them only to absorbed by the dust
Had they only noticed and for
forgiveness prayed
With eternal life they
could have all walked away
Foolish they were, as we often can be
Close enough to touch, but so far from his
reach
Jesus is within reach just hold out
your hand
You can win eternity it's all in the plan
Catch his tear before it ever
falls
You can look to the cross and walk away
with it all !
