held dear by all,

fishing, playing ball.
Thunder
storms, and heat severe,
Let's us know

Bright green
stalks of yellow corn,
Misty warm in
early morn.
Here and there
a county fair,
Let's us know

Picnics and
reunions too,
Children
visiting the zoo.
People going
almost bare,
Let's us know
that August is here
Ice cream
social, at the church,
Home-made ice
cream, if you search.
All these
good, bright things to cheer,
Let's us know
that August is here.
