"Cats and
Mice"
E. H.
Coe
They say that when the
cat's away,
The mice will have the
time to play.
But we found when the
cook is sick,
To fill her shoes, no
easy trick.
We tried to cook and
clean the house,
And be as quiet as a
mouse.
But clumsy as we both
can be,
We had our troubles,
don't you see.
So we want her to hear
the news,
Nobody else can fill
her shoes!

This is a poem that
Dad wrote one time when Mom was sick.
Mom did love
baking!!
