WHERE DOES THE
TIME GO
I remember when I was very young,
my heart knew no hate,
my mind knew no worries,
life was just happy and bright.
I lived a life of makebelieve,
of fairies, dragons, castles high
pretending I was a princess
who'd one day marry a prince.
That all changed when I a teen became.
Slowly my dreams faded away,
and new ones came to replace them.
Physical changes came my way.
I a master of my own creation,
master of my own fate,
brought me more freedom
than I could take.
Then came marriage sooner than expected
now a different set of rules.
Freedom was not what it was before,
children came and changed my goals.
Now a middle aged woman I have become,
reading stories of fairies again,
attempting to make princesses of my girls
and a prince of my only son.
Where did the time go?
When did it pass?
Who knows?
