I had watched you from afar and seen your form so tender
And I did sin against God for my heart you did render

And I loved you more than words could ever say
As I held and kissed your pain away

And I layed down my life in the things that I did
And my affection for you I never hid

And this angel did fly all around you each day
As I spoke words of love in all I could say

And your dreams became mine as I held you so tight
And I breathed in your scent all through the night

My wings I extended all around to protect
The love I’d found in you this heart of neglect
And I would have traded my wings if I could have all your love
And would have fallen from heaven above

If I could have only touched your heart
There could never be anything that would keep us apart

And though but God had given me wings to fly
I would have plunged down from God’s golden sky

And I would have taken on a mortal’s heart
Though it meant I would die just to make a new start
