A TRIBUTE TO AMERICA
~ Hometown, USA ~
by: O' Puppy
As the sun comes up this morning
On the school yard next to me
I can see Old Glory waving
In familiar pageantry
And the paper boys delivers
All the news we'll need today
While the neighborhood is sleeping
Here in Hometown, USA
It's a life we take for granted
In a land where freedom rings
But there is a cost protecting
What a constitution means
Oh our soldiers fight with valor
To defend this nation proud
As their flag is burned in protest
By some angry waiving crowd
Now the distant drums beat louder
Still America stands tall
Without liberated allies
Who can't wait for us to fall
In a place so unfamiliar
Sons and daughters wait the call
Lord we pray that you protect them
They're our heroes one and all
Some will leave this soil forever
So that freedom will remain
To their blood we make a promise
That they will not die in vain
When the victory has sounded
And the ships return to view
This new world will be much safer
God bless the red white and blue
And the sun is slowly sinking
As our children run and play
While Old Glory keeps on waving
Here in Hometown, USA

The secret place of security
psalms 91
I will say of the Lord, He is my
refuge and my fortress, my God
in Him I will trust.
Surely He will deliver thee from
the snare of the fowler, and from
the noisome pestilence.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the
terror by night, nor for the arrow
that flieth by day.
Nor for the pestilence that walketh
in darkness, nor for the destruction
that wasteth at noonday.
A thousand shall fall at thy side and
ten thousand at thy right hand, but
it shall not come near thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold
and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou has made the Lord, who
is my refuge, even the Most High, thy
habitation.
There shall no evil befall thee, neither
shall any plague come near thy dwelling
Thou shall tread upon the lion and adder
the young lion and the serpent shalt thou
trample under feet.
Because He has set his love upon me, therefore
will I deliver him; I will set him on high,
because he hath known my name
With long life will I satisfy him, and show him
my salvation.

LEST WE FORGET
PEARL HARBOR - December 7, 1941
The battleship Arizona served with pride and distinction in the U.S. Navy from 1916 until 1941. Among the many duties the ship performed was service with the British Grand Fleet at the end of World War I, taking President Hoover on a cruise of the Caribbean in 1931, providing aid after the 1933 Long Beach earthquake and serving as a location for the filming of the movie Here Comes the Navy. Tragically, the ship is familiar to most people because on December 7th, 1941 the USS Arizona was sunk during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor with the loss of over eleven hundred crew members.
