Deer Abbey, Deer Paris Pendragon, Deer Wedding Guests

We are so, so sorry that we didn't make it to the Doe and Stag Parties
last night, although I, Lyra Skerry, have been married twice and still
remember my Doe Parties very well, but poor Macbeth and Destiny, two other
eternal but still hopeful bachelors, and Ida is still to young for such
unleashed ribaldry - to miss out on all that fun...

But the boys couldn't risk aching heads and unsteady paws, as they
organized and supervised a moonlit Haggis Hunt in the Border Hills and a
Salmon Poaching Party in the river Tweed - and my gosh, were the Tartraven
hounds successful, being led by the ghostly appearances of Sean Kilbourne,
a
mighty Salmon Poacher in his time and Luadhas, the Haggis Hunters par
excellence!

Our hoomin is still up, cooking a Deerhound breakfast of Haggis and
Tatties, using Deer Linga's recipe, to revive all last night's party
participants (no Neeps, as they sometimes can cause the same problems as a
potful of beans...).  A huge Salmon Cake decorated with fresh Wild Garlic
leaves as our contribution to the wedding party is being packed as we dress
in our finery.  The other dessert we'll bring along is lots of buttery
Shortbread with a Drambuie Sauce for the ladies and a Single Malt Whisky
Sauce for the lads.

Now we have to hurry, as Ida, whom we pressed into service as our flying
carpet, is getting impatient to be off and can hardly be restrained by
Destiny, the Hound of Stone. Only Ida is large enough to accommodate us
all,
although she is such a softie and we can only pray and hope that her
strength will hold up during our moonlight trip.  I, Macbeth have already
put on my best silken clan kilt, but Lyra Skerry is still squeezing into
her
dusky pink silk dress, while practising some very sentimental wedding
songs - truly, she has a wonderful Deerhound soprano and would be
devastated
f she wouldn't be allowed to sing sometime during the festivities, although
she doesn't really insist on a solo, but is happy to join the choir.

Finally:  we are off to a flying start, having wrapped up well - it is
still freezing out here at night and some flight paths are snowy.  Ooops,
almost lost our hoomin, who is now holding on to us for deer life.

See you soon.

Macbeth, Lyra Skerry, Destiny, Ida, and hoomin Waltraud
